Things I am grateful for:
- A loving husband and great family
- The happiest dog in the world
- A job I love
- Good health
- A beautiful home
- Plenty to eat (too much at times)
- My education
- My faith
- Good friends
- Being an American
What are you thankful for?
Today is our family’s traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. We have always had our meal the night before Thanksgiving for some reason. It’s worked out well being married because now we get to be with both sides of the family every year and keep everyone happy. The downside is that there are two huge meals 2 days in a row and tons of leftovers.
My strategy for tonight is to make sure I have had enough to eat during the day so I don’t show up starving. The plan is cereal & banana for breakfast and salad for lunch.
Of course I am going to have all my favorites tonight (yams, stuffing, pie) but I’m going to do it in moderation; A tiny bit of everything… instead of a lot of everything and seconds like I’ve done in past years.
Today was also WI day for me. I was down 2.5 from last week! That probably means I was holding some water weight or something last week. It is 1/2 lb below two weeks ago putting me at an all time low and making my weight loss over the past two months at about 1 lb per month. Better than a gain per month I suppose.

-1.6
The best loss I’ve had in a month. Can’t complain about that!
Of course I had to go and have pie in the middle of the day today. They were giving it out free at the college where I work, so I took the smallest piece of apple I could see. I definitely didn’t need it, but the thing I love about WW is that I can count the points and move on. I balanced it out with a 4 point lunch, so hopefully the damage will be minimal.

The scale mocks me. I guess -0.1 is still technically a loss, but it just keeps me one more week in this stupid plateau. I know it’s all me. I probably need to take a point off my daily target and get back in the groove of planning meals in advance and packing lunches and dinners to work. Exercise once a week is not enough. Hope everyone else has more exciting Weigh-Ins this week.

I’m up 1 lb and 2 lbs over my all-time low … I’m not at my 10% anymore.:(
I know why I’m up and I know what I need to do… Just bummed out right now.
On a better note, I saw someone today that I hadn’t seen since May. She complimented me and said I looked thin - I need to use this as motivation to stick to plan. I can get back to my 10% and surpass it and begin working on my 3rd mini-goal!

Well, I am up almost a pound, but that was to be expected after my 4 days in a row of 40+ points, plus it is TOM. Today was a better day foodwise and I already have tomorrow planned. Although it’s one of my long days on campus (11 hrs), I will pack both dinner and lunch and some snacks.
I had hoped to be at my 10% by now, but it keeps eluding me. <sigh> I know I will get there, but it’s a bummer to be at a plateau. However, I did wear a size L pair of exercise pants last night at dance and thought they looked not-half-bad. Up til now everything I’ve danced in has been an XL. Also, the XL tshirt I wore last night looked frumpy, so it’s probably safe to say I am officially an L and not an XL - woo! I also wore a size 14 skirt today that hasn’t fit in a while. I’ll take the successes where I can get them I suppose.

Fixed my scale - one of the rubber stops on the bottom was loose and causing it to be off balance. After my week out of town and dessert every day, I was a little nervous to get on the scale today. I was pleasantly surprised to see I was down 2.1 lbs from my last weigh 2 weeks ago. I have officially met my driver’s license weight goal and I am 3 lbs from my 10% which I am hoping to reach before going to Hawaii on Aug 14. My trip is 2 weeks away, but I still think I can do it.
I tried McD’s Southwest Salad and it is worth what everyone is raving about it. I calculated 6.5 without the dressing. It doesn’t need dressing because the chicken has a really great flavor to it already. I paired it with a small shake and was surprised to find out that was 9 points. Luckily I had earned a few activity points today.

Loss of 0.5 today … not bad considering I went over on Flex points this week and didn’t get much exercise in. My next mini-goal is to weigh my Driver’s License weight. I am at 180.5 today and my license says 180. I’m going to wait to count it as an accomplishment until I’m actually at or below 180, which should be next week.
If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I am headed to Hawaii in August and hoping to be at my 10% by then. I have 4 weeks and 5.1 lbs to go. Wish me luck! Here’s the menu - tonight was my niece’s birthday party, the reason for the pizza and ice cream.

Today is my weigh in day. I had a loss of 0.8 . . . nothing to complain about, but I hope to have a few 1-2lb losses in the next few weeks so I can make my goal of 10% loss before our Hawaii trip. I also took my monthly measurements and progress pictures that I will post about tomorrow.
Since we had the day off for the 4th of July we went to a movie (Transformers) and then to the in-laws to swim and BBQ. Between the movie and the BBQ I used 13 flex points on popcorn, ice cream and baked beans. I’m not going to bother posting today’s menu since the point counting was based on estimates.
I hope everyone had a lovely Independence Day. I am grateful for my freedoms and for the men and women who have chosen careers that preserve those freedoms. Happy 4th!
