Clothes Shopping - NSV

Tonight I stopped at Old Navy to try to find some shorts or capris for our Hawaii trip coming up (24 days!). SHOP has been a 4-letter word for me for a while. The last time I shopped for clothes was in the Spring. I remember trying on some jeans at Lane Bryant. I grabbed a size 16 from the rack and they fit nicely. Well, I realized as I took them off, they were actually 18’s on a size 16 hangar - the biggest size I’d ever worn. That was one of my many wake-up calls.
Well I am pleased to say that everything I bought tonight was a SIZE 14! That’s right. I tried on 16’s and they fit, but I thought for kicks I would try some 14’s and I was surprised they looked better than the 16’s! Then, I knew I was pushing it, but I saw some denim gauchos I liked and they didn’t have anything bigger than a 12 so I tried it on. Get this - They FIT! Ok, they don’t look great (yet) but they were on, and zipped, and I could breathe… so I got them. I think Old Navy is probably a little more generous in their sizing than some stores, but HEY - the tag says 12 and I’m stoked!

THAT’S AWESOME!!! Congrats on the lower sizes!!
Isn’t it nice to enjoy shopping again? I soooo wish I could tag along on your trip to HI! My little sister got married in May & just moved there about a month ago. Her new hubby is in the Navy & out on a ship for another 3 months, so she’s all alone… 
I miss her… hope you have lots of fun though!!

Actaully old Navy runs small. I use to by all my clothes there. I was a size 10 every where else in shorts, pants, and capris …but a 12 there. I am a size 12 now…but at Old Navy a size 14. There skirts run pretty much true to size. There shirts can go either way. I can buy one style in a mediun but in others a large. Try a size 12 on at a different store. You may actaully be a size 12! Congrats!!!
