5 a day!

Since I’ve been following WW, I have been trying some new foods, that I otherwise wouldn’t have eaten. I have always been a pretty picky eater and I have always eaten very few fruits and vegetables. I’m trying to change that and branch out into foods I shyed away from before:

Here’s some stuff I’ve tried in that last little while (some of this I had NEVER eaten before):

yams/sweet potatoes
bananas
green peppers
banana peppers
asparagus
zuccini
pickles
pineapple
watermelon
tilapia
mahi mahi

Most of it is good. I can’t say I love any of it yet, but I can eat all of it and I’m hoping my tastes will change over time if I keep it in my diet. This morning I was surprised by how sweet the banana in my cereal tasted. The first time I had one a few months ago I basically gagged it down with a ton of water. (I’m as bad as a child, I know….) Seriously - before WW, I basically had zero fruits & vegetables in my diet with the exception of lettuce, corn and orange juice. I’m only averaging about 3 fruits/veg per day in my diet now, but it’s a HUGE improvement over where I used to be.

There are still a few things I cannot bring myself to try, like:
Cauliflower
Cooked Spinach
Broccoli
tomatoes
shrimp
tofu
egg whites
Any suggestions on how to “learn” to like food would be appreciated. :)
