I’m Still Fat?

I’m still fat? Does anyone else have those moments when you look in the mirror and go - “OHMYGOSH, I’m still fat?!?” I think I allow myself to get into these moments of euphoria because the scale says I’m down 12+ lbs and some of my clothes are fitting again and I’m down a belt loop. But then it hits me that I’m still overweight. It’s like a reality check that says - yeah, you’ve lost some weight, but you’re still fat and you have a ways to go.

Yesterday I was shopping online for a bathing suit (Hawaii countdown 45 days! ) and was so disappointed that according to one site, I am still a PLUS size. GRRrrr…. I was mad because this cute suit I wanted (called a shortini LOL) only came in the regular sizes. I know I can’t expect too much too soon, but I can’t wait for the weight loss to catch up to catch up with my deluded mind that tells me I’m getting thin. sigh…

Anyhoo, I haven’t taken my measurements or a photo since the last week of May. I was going to do it monthly, but I’m a few days overdue. TOM came on the date I planned to do pictures and measurements, but I didn’t feel like doing it when I felt bloated. I’ll do it on July4th and post the (*hopefully encouraging*) results. Sorry for the rant. Have a great OP day!

    I think one of the hardest things for us is looking into the mirror. No matter how much weight you’ve lost or how skinny you are, you will always peek into that mirror and ask, “am I still fat?” I don’t know how to get out of the mindset, but just know that it’s not the way the rest of the world views you! 12 lbs is just the beginning– you are going to transform even more along this journey. Let’s see some pics so we can give you a little more encouragement!! (Your dropping clothes sizes should help as well!)

    Maybe you should ask yourself “Am I at a more healthy weight” instead of “am I still fat”. Definitely post some pictures, I bet we’ll be able to tell a difference.
