By The Numbers #

Anyone else feel like their live revolves around numbers lately? Here are some of the numbers swirling around in my head:
5 - number of points in the 1 “snack” bag of chips I ate today… why?!?
24 - My target points for the day (for 7.6 more lbs)
16 - Number of weeks I’ve been on plan (woo hoo!)
14 - the size of jeans I am hoping to fit into S00N!
7 - the number of weeks left until I go to HAWAII!! (working to be at my 10% by then)
0.9 - the amount of weight I’ve lost the last 3 weeks in a row.
I have a love/hate relationship with the numbers. Without them, I would still be 29 yrs old and 50 lbs overweight. With the numbers, I am learning how to eat the right foods, in the right portions, and to set and meet realistic goals. I am still overweight, but becoming less so with each day. Without the numbers, I would still feel like I was spiraling out of control and watching my body become something that the didn’t represent the person I feel like inside. The numbers are there every day. Sometimes they betray me and taunt me elude me. Other times, they seem to magically appear or to go the direction I want them to go. I need the numbers. The numbers are helping me get to where I want to be. Hope your numbers are taking you where you want to go to.

Great post! Yeah…numbers, numbers, numbers. Sometime it is over whelming, but other times it give you the lift you need. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was yesterday when I jumped on the scale (yes I am a daily weigher! ;-$.) But the scale said 193.5…haven’t been that in AGES!!! Even though I couldn’t replicate that when I got on the scale again I was thrilled! Keep doing what you are doing…it is working! So jealous about Hawaii…what island are you going to?

As Melanie said, great post.
I never felt like my life revolved around numbers before, but now I do. Seems like I look at every piece of food as “2 points” or “4 points”. I’m obsessed with it now, but at least those numbers are getting the number on the scale to where I want it to be!

I have such a love/hate relationship with numbers - isn’t it amazing how they can rule your life - if they are good then we are beautiful and successful but if they are bad we are miserable failures - Ackkkk - I hate that game but I can’t turn them off so now I’m trying to learn to play along!! Thanks for putting it in that light though - your writing is always so inspirational to me so keep it up - by the way - have a blast in Hawaii - I am sooooo jealous!
