long time since posting
So i haven’t posted in a very long time….sorry….
A lot of things have happened since last november–i’m now engaged and getting married in august–soon!…I’m almost completely done with my master’s (i no longer have classes, i just have been working full time with supervision at 2 different hospitals since january)!! and i will soon be leaving my beloved city and heading to the suburbs. it’s going to be a tough transition for me and the pup, but totatlly worth it of course–i’ll finally be living with the love of my life.
Anyway, food has continued to be somewhat of a struggle for me. i can pretty much maintain a consistent weight easily (about 134-137 avg, 5′6), but i really need to watch what i eat more and get more intensive exercise. being a veg head for 5 years really has helped me knowing how to eat well, i just have a really horrible love of junkfood! oh–and one more thing has changed since last november…i’m now eating poultry on occasion due to ty’s encouragement. oh well. but beef and pork never again!
anyways, i walk at least a mile a day, that’s just because of distances between my apt and the bus, and the bus and the hospital, and then the return trip. pup and i try to get out to the park for a 3 mile walk, but it’s been so rainy and icky outside last week that we really didn’t get a chance to go that far.
oh well. i’m hoping to keep posting as an outlet from the day–work, wedding plans, food, etc.

too busy to think
holy cow! it was an insane weekend, between two dogs in my tiny studio. friday night, they apparently played too hard for 3 hours and subsequently drank waaaay to much water–lets just say there were “accidents” in my apt., the hallway outside the elevator, and on the stairwell…i did a lot of cleaning friday night. THEN, on saturday, the TL (the boyfriend) and i went to the store to grab something to eat for lunch and dinner (i have absolutely no groceries and no real good time or motivation to go get any right now)…were gone for 20 minutes–the store is 2 blocks away. when we got home, we noticed that buck looked like he had blood on his side. after inspecting him, we finally noticed that the entire hallway between my front door, the bathroom, and the kitchen was covered in splatters, streaks, and splotches of blood. apparently, daisy has a little anxiety issue, and chews her tail…when she heard us come in, she must have bounded around, flicking her tail all over the place…it looked someone had the beaten the crap out of another person in my place. so immediately, i took to scrubbing the walls, doors, floors, and even the stove (oh yes, blood all over the oven door). fortunately, it came off since i started on it immediately, though i still have a number of light pink spots on my wall. sigh. there’s still some blood on the bathroom floor that i have to clean up. it was a little exhausting.
and besides that, i’m on crunch time for school–as this is my last semester of learning treatment techniques, i’m crazy busy, and everything is due next tuesday, right before t-day. hardly time to think as a study for exams, round out group research projects, and finish up treatment plans. so in other words, you may not hear from me much this week (or next, as i’m taking a long holiday)
besides that, i’ve come to a conclusion about food. i have no control. today, junk food was put out in front of me, and i just take it. i think i’m sort of in denial. though i well know that eating that kind of stuff is not only bad for me but will help me grow larger, i think i have this thing in my head that i can eat that way and not get that much bigger simply because i’m at an avg size now. hm…what a set up for failure and bad eating habits/thoughts! this control thing is so difficult that i’ve decided to try what i’ve seen so many other bloggers doing–setting up a meal plan at the beginning of each week. so, i set one up, starting tomorrow. granted, weekends are a little unpredictable for me, as TL is in town and we often just cook something that is tried and true on him..he’s a little picky about his food, so i have to slowly try out new things. i don’t have any great things for snacks planned (i normally would, but seriously i haven’t been grocery shopping in forever–i’ve had some weekends out of town lately, busy, etc.), but hopefully i will at least get to the market sometime tomorrow or wednesday to pick up some fruit. otherwise, i will be eating snapper, mung, corn, peas, frozen berries, kefir, bananas, oatmeal, some frozen grapes i still have left, and maybe subway one day. i’ll share how things go tomorrow.
until then (i totally just put “until thin” buy accident–pun??)

veg chili stuff
just another note (this blog thing is going to become an addiction, i can just see it–so you guys better comment and urge me on!):
i make my veg chili stuff with whatever i usually have. this particular batch includes
1 can each of black, kidney, and pinto beans and diced tomatoes
probably 2 cups frozen red/yellow/green pepper strips
frozen vegetables (i just finished up a bag that i had)
large can of tomato puree
sometimes corn
dash of pepper, chili pepper or red pepper, and cinnamon.

first timer
ok everyone.
after reading blogs in the community for some time now, i have finally decided to join up….what my real hope is is that this will help me be a little more accountable for what i eat during the day. you see, i’m primarily a veg., (i occasionally eat fish)….although in the past 6 months, i have eaten a few bites of chicken…i knew the day would come (darn that boyfriend!). my issue is that i tend to be a little bit of an extremist when it comes to food. for instance, i love fruit, veg, beans, etc., but i forgo many things such as most meat, potatoes, etc in order to eat …junk food…(chips are my real passion). here’s the plan: i’ll be embarassed to share what junk i eat during the course of the day, so i won’t eat it!! will that work–not at first, but hoepfully i will get there. i don’t really much of an issue with my size–currently 139, but of course would love to be at 130 (who wouldn’t?)…but things are good. i was pushing 155 about a year and a half ago, but frankly, i stopped the partying habit i gained during undergrad. and got a large dog…20 lbs sort of fell off without me knowing it with increase in walking (well, i also moved from a small town to a city where i have to walk quite a bit) and considerably less alcohol (granted, considerably less post-drinking food binges as well–you know what i’m talking about).Â
anyway, here i am…me and my dislike of capitalization. guess i’ll start the sharing:
 today
breakfast: two cookies and two donut holes (people brought stuff today), earl grey
lunch: veg chili-esh stuff with couscous, 3 whoppers, cup or so of frozen grapes
dinner: large bowl and a half of veg chili with a sprinkle of cheese and handful of fritos
treat: counting on a cup of hot chocolate
