About
Hi, I’m Roni! Also known as Veronica Noone. I’m a Mom, wife, daughter, web developer and overall blogging geek. I recently left my job as an Assistant Professor to embark on the strange world of professional blogging.
I started blogging when I got pregnant with my son, now “the toddler”. Creating a web page became a way for me stay in touch with friends and family and keep them updated on the new addition that was about to bless us. (Yes, this is my belly, although the pictures was of my swollen feet but that gosh darn 8lb baby got in the way.)

I was immediately hooked on blogging. It gave me a way to be creative and communicate, two of my absolute favorite things to do (translation: I like to make stuff and I like to talk, A LOT). At first, my pregnancy and new baby took most of my blogging energy.

Then I started to post about my weekly Weight Watcher’s meetings. After a few weeks I decided I needed a “Weight Watchen” page. I started to use my blog as a means to vent, celebrate and share on my journey of reaching my weight loss goals.
Hold the phone! I forgot to tell you I had a weight problem, didn’t I. Well, it was more a “body image” problem. This is me in 1999. I had this problem for as long as I can remember and talk more about it on the My Story page. That’s where I go in detail about my "weight history".
So back to this blog thing, Weight Watchen really started to become a complete outlet for me, It was my shoulder to cry on, my friend to high five and my coach to report to (Click here to see the original archives salvaged). I posted progression photos, recipes, tips, insights and pretty much anything else that inspired me. I liked sharing things I thought would be useful to others on their quest for healthiness.
Notice “Recipes” wasn’t linked. I used to post recipes but food was slowly taking over my weight loss blog (as I am a bit obsessed) so I decided to start another blog, a food blog, called GreenLiteBites. At this point, I’ve become a bit of a blogging maniac.
In addition to the two blogs I launched a blog community called BlogToLose. Having reached my goals using this medium I thought it only fair to helps others reach theirs. I truly believe blogging can help people live a more conscious life and living consciously is necessary if one is to lose weight and change habits. It took me YEARS to learn that and it’s one of the messages I want to share here, on Roni’s Weigh.
Never in a million years did I think my little community would become as popular as it did, BlogToLose now has over 1000 members!
How did/do you do all this?
Well, I did mention I was a web developer, right? I do all my own design and programming. The site, the writing, the photographs, the recipes, the code, the graphics have all become my creative outlet. Web is my medium and I love every aspect of it! (except when there’s a technical problem, then I want to throw my computer out the window.)
How do you make money with the blogs?
Advertising. Plain and simple. I try not to beat you over the head with it and I really felt like I was selling out when I started placing ads, but running this blog (and GreenLiteBites and BlogToLose) take time, a lot of time. So much time, I had to decide between them and my REAL job.
I also accept products for review but I do NOT get paid to write reviews. I will always give my honest opinion and everything expressed on this blog are my words unless otherwise noted.
Will you stop?
I have no plans! As of now, blogging is about 1/2 of my personal income. I also consult through my small (meaning me) company SkinnyMinnyMedia to make up the difference. I hope one day to support my family on my blogs. I truly LOVE what I do.
So this is getting a bit long winded (again, I really can talk) but I thought it was time to give a bit more details about who I am and what this blog is all about. I used to say, and it’s still true…
I’m just a girl who started a weight loss blog to stay accountable during my weight watchers journey.

I love the updates! I’ve been following you for over a year now and learned even more about you here. I cannot even believe that WW hasn’t jumped on board with you considering how much of a believer of their program you are. Thank you for all you do for those like me who are on our own journey to go from fat, to skinny, to healthy!! You rock!!

Hi Roni – congratulations on your fitness accomplishments and your great blog.
I am a personal trainer and founder of an excellent fitness resource site that I believe could be helpful to you for your blog and for your readers.
You can include any and all of the videos from our fitness library on your blog – our VideoShare service. I know how hard it is to create quality content and keep it fresh for your visitors.
All of the videos were professionally shot by a skilled director and overseen by a noted fitness expert. They feature personal trainers demonstrating over 800 exercises and frequently asked questions answered by an exercise science professor, registered dietician, and a personal trainer who, himself, teaches other trainers.
You can make your own customized combinations of videos related to a blog topic to include in a post. And you can embed one of our “widgets” for Exercise of the Day or Fitness Q&A of the Day, which gets automatically updated, for your side bar.
Let me know what you think. I value feedback.
Best,
Sheryl

Hi Roni,
My friend actually told me about your blog and I must say im glad that she did. Your website is spot on many things. Keeping it short and to the point I was interested in posting a short text link on your site. It is totally not promoting any products or merchandise. It is simply a weight loss resource tool. We showcase many popular diet programs and products and give out the facts about them. Check out the website if you want to see for yourself:

If you approve of us and are interested please email me back and specify your price point.
Thanks again and keep up the nice work.
Best,

Hi! My name is Denise Burks and I live in the suburbs of Chicago. I am trying to crack the code to successful suburban living by interviewing and photographing women who like their lives. One of the many challenges that I faced while living in the suburbs (besides loneliness, boredom, frustration, intimidation, powerlessness, and such) was a significant weight gain. Now I don’t necessarily blame the suburbs for my weight gain. My husband, his ex-wife, my children, my step-children and my neighbor Sherri Sonner deserve credit also. And there is a possibility that my bad attitude had something to do with it. Regardless, I have been fantasizing about writing a blog that tracks my suburban journey back to fitness. I’d like to model my blog after yours and would love to chat further about your adventure. Thanks in advance. I appreciate any feedback.
