When you’re losing weight, or you’ve lost weight, don’t you just want to take your friends and family who are overweight and teach them how you’ve done it so they can experience the same joy you have as well?
Or, even more difficult, when they’ve decided they’re ready to lose weight but are, in your opinion, half-assing it?
My mother is one of the half-assing it folks. One of my good friends says she ready but hasn’t started yet. All I want to do is go to their houses and cook for them and get them to work out with me. A real workout. Not a leisurely stroll around the block or on the treadmill. I want to redo their entire way of thinking about eating and exercise.
Unfortunately, as my best friend says (who has lost over 100 pounds now!), you can’t make someone do it. They have to decide for themselves and just vocalizing and wishing won’t make it happen. Action has to be taken!
So to all my fellow Weightwatchen Bloggers… don’t half ass it! Just do it! Take ACTION! It’s all up to you!
Woohoo!

OMG this post is so true!! I read it and almost got tears in my eyes. The reason is there are so many people who are out there that WANT to, but don’t want to work hard at it. Nobody said losing weight is going to be easy….so having said that, it HAS to come from somewhere deep inside them to REALLY commit themselves, and there is nothing unfortunately that you can do but wait until they ACTUALLY WANT IT BAD ENOUGH! *sigh* kind of a heart break situation waiting on the sidelines!

What are you, a mind reader?! lol! The husband, has been half hearted since the beginning. Although he enjoys what I’m fixing and eats what I eat, he eats all at once!-Nothing all day long and everything in the evening. I’ve tried to tell him he needs to take something to work to eat during the day and balance his intake, but he’s not hearing it!—And he wonders why I’ve lost 32lbs to his 20.—Man, why do they have to be sooo hardheaded!

It’s only natural when we’ve learned something that we want to share that knowledge with people who we think might benefit from it. Unfortunately, most don’t want to hear our ‘wisdom’. There are four of us at work formally on weight watchers and we try hard not to make all the coffee room talk focused that way. I’ve seen it happen before and behind their backs others are saying “don’t you just hate it when they go on and on” etc
When I catch myself getting preachy or too informative I mentally yank myself back and just hope that through casual conversation and modeling, some of the things I’ve learned will rub off. Perhaps if I (when I ) reach goal and I am there for awhile, I’ll be more credible LOL Losing weight then gaining it back only to try to lose it again is rough. Sometimes I feel like a hypocrite, but at least I’m trying to make good changes.
happy thursday

When I first started losing weight I thought WOW this ain’t so hard if I can do it anybody can. It is so true the person has to really want it bad enough or nothing you can do will work. I have been stuck for the past couple of months. Thanks for the pep talk I really need to stop half assing it.
