Hawaii, San Diego, Memphis…no good eats!!

What a crazy two days!!  I left Hawaii at 1:30 Hawaii time and flew to San Fran…but since there is bad weather back east my flight to San Diego was delayed by 3 hours…so I didn’t even get back to San Diego until 3am….AND I WAS STARVING!!!!  If I could have eaten my flip flop I would have…just didn’t know how many points in a flip flop  :)  Well not much is open at 3am so off to Denny’s the hubby and I go…not too many great choices there….had a very bad breakfast in more ways then one…went home and slept for four hours and got up to head to the airport at 9:30 to catch my flight to memphis.  Well my stomach was just sick from the crap I ate at Denny’s do I only had a cup of coffee and out the door.  At the airport I grabbed a supersize Starbucks with triple shot to get me going….at least it’s a milk serving.  Then on to the plane….I was hungry about halfway through so I got one of those snack boxes…21 points later….whew 21 points for not a whole lot of stuff…but when you are hungry you gotta eat.  I just had a salad here in Memphis but wow looking at the past few days I will be lucky to hold onto my Onederland status this week…no worries…I can get back on track in no time.  The good news is at least I got a good workout in before I left Hawaii and I should be able to get a run in tomorrow morning before we drive up to Maryland….

So I have learned that no matter how well you plan when you travel…you can’t plan for bad weather….my snacks ran out before I could get home.  Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet…or the snack box as it may be….because you are hungry.  Well I am going to push lots of water and really focus on what I eat for the next few days.  My workouts are off kilter, my eating is not where I like it to be and I am sooooo tired.  I will be in Maryland for two weeks so I hope to right things with my system….and I will go to a meeting if I can take the rental car…I will keep you posted!!

One other thing…

So chatty tonight….I know you are thinking….wow does this girl ever shut up??  Well the answer is NO…not really….but that’s just the kinda social butterfly I am….

 Tomorrow is May 1st…so it’s a brand new month…so a new challenge is needed.  I am going to pick up where I left off last month with my strength training…yes I will start to do those push ups again….even if I do think that my arms are way too long and it’s not really fair…but anyway….

Also I want to be at my 75 pound mark by my 36th Birthday and that is May 28th….so 28 days and 5 pounds to go!!!  I really need to stay on track I can’t let the whole 199 thing go to my head  :)

I tried trial running with the hubby last month….the trails he picked were not fun because of the mountains he wanted me to run up and down.  We have mapped out a new trail that has nice rolling hills…gentle up and down just the way I like it…so this month I am going to start working on my trail skills.  I like to run outside but I get bored on the streets…the treadmill is nice because I can plug into my music and completely tune everything out and just run without worry….trails are the best of both worlds….I can be outside without the traffic and stoplights….and I can tune out and run with my IPOD just the way I like…and the ups and downs and side to side help make me stronger.

I just had some more of the pringles….I think I may have to dump dirt on them or something…I can’t help myself….I AM WEAK!!  hehehehehe….but sometimes weak is fun!!!  give in a little here….run a little there…does it really work out in the end??  We will see I guess…..

Onederland…finally

Had my WI here in Hawaii…Maggie my other favorite leader has moved away…but it was still fun.  I am down 2.8 pounds and I am at 199.8…yes that is a one in the first spot of my weight…can you believe it??  I can’t….70 pounds gone…whew!!

So I am not going to stay in Hawaii as long as planned.  I will leave here on Friday and get home to San Diego at midnight…just to turn around and hope on a plane for Norfolk, VA less than 12 hours later…talk about good times.  I am really looking forward to what I am going to VA for….but such a long couple of days of travel….must drink lots of water!!

Now for my new problem….Since I am living in a hotel I try to get snacks to pack in my lunch…well…I bought some of those Fat Free Pringles….and I can’t stop eating them…they are like crack!!  I walk by and munch…then munch again…I have always been a chip kinda girl so this was probably not the best choice to keep around….I had better watch it or I may end up back in the 200’s before I really have the chance to enjoy my newest weight class  :)  Mental note to self…do not buy anything other than a single serving of any kind of chips…just because they are fat free does not me calorie free….UGH!!

I have been running…and I have run my 5K in 27:24…fastest yet!!  I love that I am getting stronger and faster.  I have been doing the Serena Williams Interval training workout on my IPOD….I love that she coaches you and it’s interval so I just make it a goal to go faster each time I do it…even if it’s just a little bit…each little bit adds up in the long run and I am really getting into my groove…just have to keep the FF pringles out of the groove…trouble I tell you…that’s all they are.

Well I have found a meeting where I will be in VA…but I have to share a rental car with some of the guys I work with…so I will have to work that angle when I get there….but one way or another I will stay on track!!  As always I have booked a hotel with a microwave, fridge and coffeepot…I will pick up a few items at the store to take care of meals within my points…now I just have to find a place to workout….it’s hot so I hope to find a gym…but if I have to I will suck it up and run outside in the hot humid east coast weather….I am way too spoiled being from San Diego….it’s always nice for a run outside.  Just gotta focus and I will be fine.  Checking back as always…..

Good thing I am already packed

I will be leaving Hawaii early (Friday) so I can go to Norfolk, VA on Saturday….just when I got this whole thing down…they throw a wrench into the whole works!!!  UGH!!!

I hate packing

so here I am….I am doing laundry at least getting ready for another trip to Hawaii…but I hate packing!!  Hubby is making some salmon for dinner tonight…we had shrimp last night…gotta go a little light this weekend.  We went out to dinner on Thursday and I had Chicken fajitas, spinach artichoke dip with chips and a stawberry cheesecake cup….and it was all great and worth each and every bite :)  I ate all of my chicken and only two tortillas…steered clear of the rice and went very light on the cheese so it wasn’t all that bad…but I was really in the mood for the dip and 10 points later…I was happy but still on track…that’s why I love WW.

I ran 9 miles yesterday….yes 9 without stopping….woohoo for me.  I just got back from knocking out a 10K…running is great but I peetered out on my push ups….so for May I am pushing up for sure.  My B-day is on the 28th of May and I am working on hitting my 75 lbs gone by then….I am so close to the 190’s it’s all I can think about….I don’t know why in my head I have made that such a huge milestone…but it just seems if I can make it there….I will get to goal. 

Well time to add the fabric softner…and I guess I need to figure out what is going with me and what I need to go buy…I am having pants issues right now so I may need to go out tomorrow and pick up a few things.  Hawaii doesn’t have a great selection of stores to pick up inexpensive things so I am better off getting what I need here.  Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend….and I will check back later.

Run, Run, Run…

and not in the fun way I like to either…..

 Crazy week again….between jumping between the shipyard and both of my offices I wonder how I ever get anything done!!  I hate when other people screw stuff up so you have to knee jerk in order to get your schedule flipped around to get everything done.  I had the perfect plan to get through this week…was all set to be able to get everything done with out all the running around…but Nooooo…..somebody has to not file the right forms and I end up having to move something that should have been done Monday to Thursday and that just flipped everything off schedule…whew….I wish I could explain more…but I hope you catch my drift….

My WI last night was pretty good…down 2.4 pounds and according to my BMI I am no longer Obese…I am now just Overweight…and I will take that and smile…oh to just be overweight again such an accomplishment  :)  I am just 2.7 pounds from entering onederland and I can’t wait…plus when I hit my 75 pound mark I am going to treat myself to something great…I just don’t know what it is yet. 

Tomorrow I have to get everything here in San Diego wrapped up for the next two weeks while I am in Hawaii….running around like a crazy girl….I hope to have at least one day off this trip so I can go to the swap meet…gotta get some gifts.  This weekend I have to go hit some sales to get some pants…I have shifted a size again and now my pants slip down a little too much for my taste so I am going to hit the sale rack at the Avenue with my coupons and I hope to pick up a few cheap pairs of Chinos for this trip to Hawaii…they always get messed up on the ship in the yards anyway so it doesn’t have to be anything too nice.

Well just wanted to check in….I hate not having the time to hang out and chat…phooey on work…I need a day off!!  I am going to take two days off in a row when I get back from Hawaii….and I can’t wait….two whole days of just hanging out watching daytime TV…ahhhh.  Talk to you later….  :)

Hello…Sorry I didn’t write

What a week!!  First it started with that wonderful time of the month that I just love.  I just don’t understand how my body still chooses to betray me when I am working so hard to get healthy…go figure.  So things may not have been really as bad as I thought they were…but of course my crazy mind adds much drama just because. 

I have one ship we are working here in San Diego, plus a few other things I have had to juggle…then I have to finish a project in Hawaii…while still finishing up what I am working on here.  Looks like Germany is going to be July and August…so there goes the summer…but I am excited to go to Germany either way.

So last Wednesday I weighed in…up .6 but hey I was expecting it(TOM) so no biggie.  Had a great run and I am getting faster finally.  Work has been crazy and I have to get ready to head out to Hawaii next Monday…here come the 10 hour days and living in a hotel again…but I have done it before and stayed on track so I will do it again.

On Saturday Hubby and I did the Relay for Life…it was lots of fun and we walked two hours and that turned out to be about 7.5 miles…not to shabby.  We can home and I had to log a few miles running to keep ahead of some of the folks in one of my races…can’t let anyone get too far ahead…I have been on the edge of the top 5 for weeks…me and this one other guy just keep switching places…it’s fun and very motivating.

 Sunday was the Hubby’s birthday…so off to REI to pick out his gift and he wanted Chicken Parmigiana with pasta…so of course he get what he wants….but I have figured out how to lighten it up a bit and we actually prefer it now.  I have posted pics of some things on my new page “Dinnertime”.  I didn’t put points values…but they aren’t hard to figure out.

So here we are at Monday….whew…looking back it doesn’t seem like much…but at the time I was going a little crazy…this week is going to be a little rough…just because I have to do a few things before I hit the road again.

Now for my activity…I have been staying on top of running…push ups not as much as I would like.  Something had to give and it turned out my blogging had to take a back seat…and that sucked!!  I miss you guys now that I have found you :)

AAC Wed 47/590; Thur 46/636; Fri 71/707; Sat 170/877; Sun 140/1017; Mon 40/1057…runs are getting stronger and I finished my second 5K in 28:34 so that makes two for the month.  I still want to get to a class but I have to figure out when to work it in.  Push ups still need lots of work…I just didn’t commit like I needed to…gotta find the fun in it so I can stick with it.

I am here…and I will be back to update

Sorry I have been out of touch for the week…soooooo busy!!  Hubby and I walked in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life today…and we are getting ready for dinner right now.  I will be back later to update everything to include:  a few recipes, AAC updates, and just general stuff from the week….and I have some catching up on my reading too…gotta see what everyone else has been up too….

Watching TV…who me?

I watched the Biggest Loser for the first time last night…it was great to see all the hard work those folks put in…but I remember why I don’t watch TV…too many commercials…I think the last half hour of that show was all commercials with about 5 mins of show  :)

Also since it is that TOM for me…my body has decided to go ahead and continue to betray me…no energy…snacky…sleepy….ugh…I hate it!!  Last night I didn’t go run, I was in the shipyard all day so I was tired from that and just general no energy…yuck!  I made Roni’s Zucchini Spaghetti Squash Lasagna…soooo gooood and really light I have pics I will post later.  I also had some smore’s poptarts…and those were soooo goood too  :)  I really wanted some gooey chocolate and those were perfect.  I can’t remember the last time I had a pop tart but they were worth the points for sure. 

I woke up this morning and went to the gym…I was going to get in a quick workout.  It was early 4:40 so I got dressed and headed out…I didn’t notice until I was trying to run this morning that my workout pants didn’t have a drawstring so I ended up going back home because I couldn’t get my pants to stay up while I worked out.  I know there are worse things that could happen but I didn’t want to drop my pants in front of all the folks at the Y.  I will get a good run in this afternoon with some pants that will stay up. 

I am feeling much better today so I know I will have a great run this afternoon.  I also have my WI, but hard to tell what the scale is going to do…I know I did well this past week so if I am up I know why.  I am also getting ready to go back to Hawaii for work…I have a meeting that I go to there and it will be nice to see that group again…Maggie the leader is lots of fun.  I love my meeting here but it is nice to have another great meeting to go to when I travel.  I had better get some work done…checking back later…
