Failure Friday

OK…I “faced the music” and went to WI today. UHHHHGGG!! Just shoot me now! That little girls weekend cost me a 2.8 lb gain!!!! image It just gripes my butt how hard I worked or how long it took to lose 2.8 lbs …and it can come back that fast! But like I told you all! I went WAY over the deep end. Unlimited drinks and food…but had such a good time connecting with my ladies! Back on track now…! I have about 2 months left before we go to our Classic Rockfest…Moondance Jam!

Cloudy and drizzly here today….Days like this are made for blankets and movies, aren’t they? And maybe homemade cookies! hehehe….(why do I love food so much?)

Jay and I are going to the Twins game tomorrow night with a couple of friends of ours. They are celebrating their 22nd anniversary and wanted us to come with. We will do dinner downtown before the game (another challenge..uhhgg) and then go to the Metrodome after that. They are both originally from ND and we met them years ago at our church. It should be fun!

Other than that..nothing big planned….gotta get back to work for now though!

uneventful…

So now I’m copying TR’s post…we both feel the same way. I come here to read everyones blog and feel that I have nothing really exciting to post! I’ve exercised 4 days in a row this week but am still struggling with the eating. I think part of it is caused by working from home! That damn fridge and junk food cupboard are WAY too close and handy! Although the things I’m eating TOO much of are actually pretty good foods…like the whole wheat/honey pretzels from Trader Joes…and my black bean salsa dip with whole wheat tortillas….but come on now. How about a balanced meal? I’ll work on that…

Anywhoo…in case I don’t post right away again…have a great weekend!

MIA

Sorry to be MIA…but I’ve been trying to get in here since Sunday…so stopping by quick to let you know I survived girls weekend! We had an awesome time…even though we got SNOW this weekend! Crazy! Friday night we met for dinner, then drove to our hotel, checked in, had a cocktail and then drove to The Medina Ballroom to see Boogie Wonderland. They do mostly 70s/80s Disco type music and we did a lot of dancing. Then back to the hotel to chit-chat til 3 a.m.!

Saturday we honestly sat around the hotel all day, visiting…and then by 7:00 that night went to dinner. When we were at dinner, 3 married couples came in and commented that we must be having a Girls Weekend…and suggested a local bar with a live band that night. So we did that too! Then up again til 3:00 a.m. Needless to say Sunday afternoon I spent napping after I got home.

Today was my interview at United Health Group. It was from 9:00 - 12:00. I was interview by 5 differnent guys. I “think” it went ok. I guess time will tell.

On the eating/exercise front. I don’t even dare look at a scale yet this week! So in otherwords, my will-power was “lacking” to put it lightly. I am back on the exercise wagon though and eating is back on track. I hope my gain isn’t too big on Friday. (…. :( and yes I am fully expecting a gain!) But I’ll be OK with it. One way or another I will get it off and keep moving forward!

busy body!

Well…so far I’ve had a very good week! I’ve been to the gym 3 nights in a row, which makes 5 days of exercise in row!  In fact…last night I did 40 min. on the elliptical at the gym, then came home and walked 3 miles with the hubby!  I’m pretty sure hell HAS frozen over?? My husband has NEVER been an exerciser!! We walked together on Sunday..then he walked without me on Monday night as he beat me home from work…then wanted to go again  last night!!!  HOLY COW!!!  I’m in shock. I wonder if he saw a number on the scale that he wasn’t happy with? hm…..not that I care….I’m just glad he’s doing it!!  :)

Other news….I’ve applied for a new job recently…and have had 2 preliminary job interviews (via phone) and now have been invited for a face-to-face one next Tuesday! I’m so excited!  I work for IBM right now…and will be interviewing with United Health Groups in Plymouth, MN.  So keep your fingers crossed for me!

Well…gotta run.  Have some things to get organized for this weekend!  OHHhhhhh which I forgot to mention!  This is GIRL’S Weekend.  Six of us got rooms about 30 miles from here and will be spending the weekend doing fun stuff!  (It’s me and the wives of my co-workers since I work with almost all guys). I think we’re going to hear an 80’s rock band on Friday night and not sure what’s in store for Saturday night! It’s mostly just a nice weekend away from our families…having cocktails, hot-tubbing, chit-chatting (eating of course…will be challenging)…girl stuff!  Should be a blast!

LOVE THESE!!!

OK…I found these Whole Wheat roll-ups in the Deli section of my grocery store! I am absolutely “in love” with them! They are 110 calories of pure heaven! I’ve made healthy roll up sandwiches with them and also made my favorite pizza on them! You HAVE TO try them!

Damascus Bakeries… 110 calories, 3g Fat, 7 g Fiber, 10g protein! (2 pts)

110 calories is less that 2 slices of whole grain bread! And the pizza I made on Saturday with this was a total of 6 points counting the wrap, cheese and a couple Tbsp of diced pepperoni and LOTS of veggies! And believe me..it was extremely filling! I almost could have made 2 meals out of it!

Gloomy Saturday

I woke up this morning and it was cloudy, gloomy and rainy! ICK! So…might as well head to the gym! I got there at 10:00 and did 50 min. on the elliptical…then did the 1-hour Body Pump class! I felt AWESOME after I was done …at freaking 12:40! A regular ol’ gym rat these days!

I came home, showered up quick and headed out to do some shopping! I figured I was safer doing that then staying home and watching Lifetime movies all day! On rainy days, I would have a tendency to watch movies and “graze” all day…so my plan was to stay busy! I ended up at JC Pennys and bought some new exercise clothes! I bought a couple pair of capri sweats w/matching tanks…it was buy one get one for .88 cents…so couldn’t pass that up!

So, today was WI…was only down .6 :( But a loss is a loss! But I was really expecting MUCH better because I did well this week! I went to the gym 4 days straight and ate really well. Oh well, maybe it will catch up with me next week! I’m in this for the long haul and I feel better, so that’s all that counts!

Nothing big planned for the weekend. Will be going to Body Pump in the morning and may even do 30-45 min. of cardio as well. Have a great weekend all!

Ditto what Kristi said! I am so freakin’ happy that Ali won The Biggest Loser! What motivation, huh? I went to Body Pump last night and really worked hard…adding weight to almost every set! I felt so good when I got done! AND ….the big accomplishment…. packed my lunch for today and didn’t even have a snack before bed! That’s HUGE for me! :)

spring has sprung

Yes..in Minnesota it is going to be in the low 70’s!! :) What a nice change from having snow last weekend! LOL It’s so funny because when it hits about 45 degrees here…all the neighbors are out cleaning out their garages, washing their cars, cleaning their windows etc! You can definitely tell we’ve been couped up inside for too long!

I did make a trip to Trader Joe’s yesterday and came home with some great finds! I haven’t tried them all yet, but so far love the whole wheat english muffins, the savory rice crackers with soy sauce, the soy crips (BBQ..yum) and also bought a 3 layer hummus that I can’t wait to dig into for lunch. I tried to find the low-carb, low-fat whole wheat tortillas…but they must have been out. So I just bought the whole wheat ones…they are 120 cal….so 2 pts each. I am busy this morning making some homemade tortilla chips to go with my black bean & corn salsa! That’s my all-time favorite snack!

I also made it back to Body Pump last night, so that felt good. Today I am working from home so also multi-tasking by getting dinner ready for tonight so I can be at the gym early tonight! I want to get home in time for the Biggest Loser finale! I can’t wait! I kind of want Ali to win, but I wouldn’t be upset if Kelli did! They are both doing SO awesome! I don’t really want Mark, even though he has done such a great job! And I think he’ll be too skinny if he loses any more? Plus I really want a girl to win this time!
