The title pretty much says it all, but here’s the explanation…. I’ve put a contract on myself via Stickk.com that i would lose 800g a week or else i’d donate 10$ each week to an anti-charity act :) Sounds weird?! Hell yeah, but it’s definitely a new way to boost my motivation a little! So come see my profile on Stickk, the screenname’s “nath” and leave a message on my wall maybe!

Apart from that i’ve been real busy getting things done for the official opening night of the restaurant. I’ve invited about 200 people in the hope that about half of them will show up, but now i’m slightly freaked about the fact that it’s probable they’ll might all show up… i hope not though otherwise there’s definitely not enough champagne and food.

Have been out running a few times, but everytime i did my back killed me for the next 4-5 days…. I’m obviously too heave to be running on hard ground, so i’ll be trying to get a bit of exercise done at the gym.

Just read the Community news about the change of location for all of us, might be a good idea even if we can’t import posts. I’m liking the sound of the new features :)

It’s 1 am right now and i’ve just turned 27… Bloody hell, time goes by so fast!!!! I’m starting to feel all old and frumpy and strangely more and more “aware” that i really need to do something about the weight. My back and my feet hurt after a long day on my feet at work, which never ever happened but now i get tired and sore everywhere after a few hours working. I really need to get some weight off because it’s doing no good to my back and joints obviously… Plus i feel all puffy, and none of my clothes seem to fit right anymore, it’s quite depressing getting dressed in the mornings. So much for the whining and now to the positive stuff :) I’ve gone back to the gym hooray (must’ve been the 30st time i go back there after a longer break, but hey at least i go back!) So i’m doing some weights and a little eliptical, no running yet because my back is killing me lately as already mentioned… And i’m watching my food, slowly but surely i’m getting a grip yay me :)

But now it’s past 1am and i need to get some sleep so talk soon

That’s the question i’m asking myself lately……

Life’s been incredibly busy in the past couple of weeks. My trip to Hong Kong was awesome but went by in a blur then i got back and we closed the restaurant for 3 weeks to redo it entirely. Now we’re back open and running and it turned out beautiful!!! But i’ve been working every day since then and i’m exhausted after a little more than 2 weeks of that… Honestly i’m so tired and after about 10-12 hours on my feet i’m aching everywhere.

Everything’s going by so fast and i feel like i’m only a spectator and no longer the main actor! Dieting is not even a word to me anymore, i’ve even put on weight since 2 months ago. Which means right now i’m painfully close to the 100kg mark and only seeing the scale or my sad reflection in the mirror makes me cry… I feel incredibly lonely and ugly, i’m not that girl, i used to be confident and charming and not grumpy and self-conscious :(  To be totally honest, i feel like crap and i hate it… I have lost all control over my life in every perspective and it scares me. I want to get a grip and go running, have a drink at the pub with my friends, play golf etc.

Before i went to Hong Kong i’d decided that i wanted to sign up for courses at the Open University (long-distance learning) It feels like a challenge to me, i want to learn something new and i’m doing it for myself! I wish i could be so determined about my weight… So i’ll be starting a couple of introductory courses at Uni in a month, i’m excited about that, i think i’ll really enjoy it!

I’m sorry for the crappy post, honestly, but i’m just feeling real low lately. I’ll try and come back to the community slowly because i feel like i really could need some support here :) can you tell??

Anyway i’ll be back here soon with more news

I’m happy to say that i have gone back to the weekly WW meetings (after more than 2 months absence) on Tuesday…. And you know what?? It felt good, really good!

The Coach didn’t recognize me which is probably a good thing, considering i haven’t been for so long but i was really happy to be there. Even the dreaded step on the scale was kind of ok, because i had  the feeling i was doing the right thing by going back there for help… The scale showed 97,5 kg (dressed and in shoes), that bummed me a little but it can only get better right?

Furthermore i got introduced to the “new” flexpoints plan (the europe one is probably completely different from the US plan)… From now on, we can choose from 18 different foods to eat “until you’re full” for a certain amount of points…. For example all you can eat potatoes for 4 points, topped with veggies and a piece of chicken or whatever. Kinda sweet me thinks :) especially when i’m having one of my “always hungry” days!

So, that was the best thing i’ve done in a long time. It took me quite some time to find the courage to go back there, but now i’m really happy i did.

Unfortunately i won’t make it to meeting this next Tuesday because i need to pack for China the next day. But i’ve promised myself to go back as soon as i’m back from my trip!

Right now i’m focusing on getting all the open stuff done before i leave on Wednesday, and feeling slightly overwhelmed by all there still is left to do. But i’m coping, and tomorrow afternoon after work i’m going for a run too, yeah :)

Time to go to bed now.

This was today’s Garfield

garfield1

That could actually have been one of my own theories, very funny anyway :D

Tomorrow begins day 1 of the sensational and neverending “getagripmoveyourassoffthecouchjournalandgototheweeklymeetings” action!!! I really need to be more strict with myself, because doing half things won’t do me any good. My jeans are strangling me, my face is all puffy and i’m not a happy babe anymore! I need to have the feeling that i’m in control of things, and that’s really not the case lately.

Hong Kong trip is in less than 2 weeks, and i’m already freaking out. What if i’m the fattest person in whole Hong Kong??? Because they’re all super skinny those Asians, i’m scared i’ll feel like freakin’ Godzilla only in China. Geez i’m freaking out completely, can you tell? Anyway i’m still very excited nonetheless…

That was it, just a quick one before i’m off to bed. Good night you lovelies!

Lovely Roni reviewed a book a while ago now (read more here) and i’ve found that review really interesting. So i went about and got the book myself, well not the exact same one actually but it’s still a Volumetrics book (this one! ).

It talks about bulking up your food in a way that makes you feel fuller on fewer calories. I think that’s really an important thing to learn, because when you’re full your satisfied and less tempted to snack on the bad stuff.

I’m about a third through the book right now, and i can only recommend it, it’s a good read and very informative!

The other book is Shauna’s The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl (i couldn’t wait until in 2 weeks :) ). I’m at page 30 already after only a day and it’s so touching and honest, i love it! It has already had me bursting out laughing and sniffing tears back, i cannot wait to read a few more pages before going to bed in a bit. It’s a must-get!!!!!!!!!

Me with DG Oh fiiiiiiiiiinally!!!! I got a really nice surprise this morning in the mail. My very own copy of the lovely Dietgirl’s book has arrived at my little home. It’s THE most expected book of the year, well to me anyway :) and i’m so proud and excited to be holding it in my hands right now. I was actually going to wait until my trip to Hong Kong on the 30st to start reading it, but i don’t know if i’ll be able to wait for another 2 weeks…

Anyways, thumbs up to Shauna, that’s one helluv’an achievement. I hope she’ll sign my copy someday when i’m back in Scotland ;) GO DG, woohoo!

I’ve had a crappy week, you guys… Now really, lots of work and the flu still sticking to me like glue! I’m virtually e x h a u s t e d. Right now i’m typing this from my bed where it’s already past midnight (again) and i haven’t managed to lie down earlier.

Things are slightly hectic around here lately. There’s alot of stuff to be done before my trip to china in 3 weeks (gosh, only 3 weeks). Visa to be applied for, paperwork at the restaurant to be done, some stuff in the flat to be done too… Can anyone tell me why we don’t have 30 hour days yet??!! :)

Tomorrow, no today actually, is the start of a new week so i’m eager to see what that one is going to bring us.

Last week i only logged 2 exercise units, not much but still better than nothing, ey? I got a 40 mins run/walk and today i went walking in the woods for over an hour. I’m taking my antibiotics and other meds so that’ll hopefully get me back on my feet by end of next week :/

Soooo, that was it! On to a new week, guys!

I’m having a tough Start people! It’s not as easy as i thought it would be to get back moving after the holidays… I’m still struggling with the bronchitis of a month ago and went to the Doc this afternoon to get some antibiotics, because without them i’ll never get rid of the nasty thing.

Have been running ONCE sofar, and that was yesterday and only for 40 minutes (there was a lot of walking in between)! Will try and go to the gym tomorrow for an indoor workout, it’s just too cold and slippery outside.

Foodwise it’s been ok, have not been counting everything but have not been eating excessively, not really that hungry after all the food of last week. But i need to start logging food again, have not done that in ages and it does help!

One of my 2 guinea pigs died today, it got incredibly sick and wouldn’t eat anymore so the vet gave her a shot, that’s really sad! I’ve had them for over 5 years now and the other one is alone now… that was slightly off topic but i thought i would share that with you guys.

Gotta go now, am having dinner with my hongkong friend and others…..

I’m writing this on the day after the big feast leaving me feeling like a giant stuffed turkey :D

I hope everyone is having a good Christmas with the loved ones and not indulging in too many rich foods? As for me i had a great Christmas Eve dinner with my Parents and brother but there was wayyyyy too much food, so i’m left with huge amounts of leftovers going from starters up to dessert. I hate it!  k

Did you all get nice pressies? :)

Now is the time to start thinking on new RESOLUTIONS for next year….  oh noooooo ;)

Howdy all!

I know, I know… it’s been way too long again!

I have a question for you and i hope maybe you can help me out? I’ve had really bad stomach cramps on Friday and was wondering maybe it was because i had been eating too much fiber? I’d been having fiber supplemented fruit juice in the morning, Allbran Flakes and other fullgrain products for a few days now and all of a sudden friday i get these really bad stomach cramps. They lasted all day and the next day it was more or less fine again… Could Fiber be doing that to me? I have no idea so i hope you can maybe answer that question :)

Thanks

I got tagged by Nancy so here goes…

1. I have an Italian dad and an English mum which makes for a pretty crazy mixture

2. People think i wear contact lenses because my eyes are such a weird grassy green colour (apparently)

3. I’m totally addicted to shopping (i’d buy anything actually), when i’m stressed or in a bad mood i find that shopping helps me relax, sometimes it drives me crazy (it doesn’t help my finances though :D )

4. I had my hair dyed bright pink once when i was in highschool, i looked like a giant highlighter pen

5. I’ve been standing on skis since the age of 4 and i snowboard too

6. Shoes and handbags are a big obsession of mine (cf. point 3.)

7. I have a terrible memory, sometimes i put something somewhere specifically and spend 30 min looking for it because i can’t remember where i put it. The worst is directions, i get lost constantly. It doesn’t help that i’m a little messy too, but i’m working on it :) on a daily basis…

So that was it! And now who will i tag? Or more specifically, who could i tag who hasn’t been tagged yet? :) Well here it comes… I’m tagging Kristi and Lisa Bring it on, Girls!!

Hey Ladies! First of all thanks so much for all the comments, it’s really nice to see i’m not forgotten ;)

I’m getting settled nicely in my new home. It’s all still very new and i need to adjust to the all the stuff that needs to be done in a home because before my mum and the cleaning lade used to take care of those things such as shopping and doing the laundry (which i truly hate i have noticed, because there’s 2 baskets of clothes lying there since over a week now waiting to be washed and ironed, ewwwwwww) It’s all slightly overwhelming at the moment!

I have promised myself to get back On Plan from Monday on and start making Bentos to take to work in order to have more control over the food i put in my mouth. What i’m doing now will not do, i can’t trust that the cooks here put exactly what i tell them in my food plus it might be more of an incentive if i start cooking my own meals who knows? Plus i really need to get back to the Gym, i miss it… Winter has come here and it’s cold and wet outside, so no golf for me at the moment. But i feel like i need to move more, maybe i’ll try and go swimming too (i used to like that alot, plus it’s a really good body shaper)

As if i wasn’t already swamped enough, i have just signed up for a blog on Wordpress. It’ll be a more personal one about me, not only the dieting :) Will post the Link soon, as soon as i have started posting there….

So, i gotta run but i’ll catch up with you’all guys soon!!! xxx

Hey, i’m back! I was off the last week to move out of my parent’s house into my spanking new flat… I’m so happy it’s finally done, it’s just how i imagined it and i love it :)

So last week was basically lots of packing/unpacking stuff and getting rid of a whole lot of Junk that i had stacked in my bedroom. Now i’m finally set and have a really nice kitchen to start cooking meals in it! I have been eating alot on the go in the last 2 weeks because of lack of time but i intend to start making bentos soon…. I did a really good bolognese pasta sauce on saturday and it turned out yummy with not much fat in it and lean ground meat. I froze the rest in tupperwares in case some day i’m too lazy to cook and need something quick and tasty. On the diet front it hasn’t been great, in fact i really need to step on the scale tomorrow morning to know where i’m standing. Hopefully everything will turn to normal now and settle down so that i can focus on my WW again….

I have loads of blogs to catch up with so i better start now :)

I have been busy the whole week apart from having bronchitis which tires me extremely… But i was surprised how easy it is to not care about food when you’re busy living your life actually :) i have been to busy to weigh in too, which is not really that good a thing but i’ll try and attend the meeting of next week…

I have walked my good friend Michele’s beagle 3 times last week for over one hour… She’s currently in Hongkong for a year and her mum doesn’t always have the time to walk the dog which is in desperate need of some exercise (duh, me too!). So i offered to walk him a couple of times a week during my afternoon breaks and i’m loving it! The dog is so funny and cute, and we’ve been having perfect autumn weather here with beautiful sunny days so it was a real treat to be outside. I noticed i feel much less tired after an afternoon out and about compared to when i went home and just had a nap infront of the TV, plus i sleep much better at night because i haven’t been sleeping earlier in the day. So i guess i’ll try and walk the dog as often as possible during the week as i really enjoyed it and he did too :)

My bento boxes have arrived yesterday, woohoo :D they are really cute. I bought the Urara set of 3 two-tier boxes (red, blue and yellow) with their matching belts, one Onigiri rice mould and 2 silicone microwaveable divider cups. As i already said in my previous post, i bought all those items at Sarah’s Ebay-Store BENTO OBENTO SHOP and i really recommend that shop. I will try and make my first attempt at Bento possibly in my new kitchen next week… i’m excited!! Can you tell?

I must have caught a cold on the weekend because yesterday night my throat started being scratchy and my nose was running… And this morning i woke up with my face all swollen and a big headache. I don’t usually get ill that much but lately it’s just been one thing after the other. So today my main objective is to not fall asleep at work because of all the tablets i’m taking. I will be going home around 2pm for a big nap and then back to work in the evening, i’m afraid no time to rest really!

I must be getting my Bento boxes soon. I’m so excited and really looking forward to them… My kitchen will be delivered on thursday and it takes about 3 days to set it up. By then i’ll be all set to actually be able to move out of the parents’ home (finally :) ), if i do decide to get rid of all the junk in my room before…. Looks like there’s still plenty to do!

Foodwise it’s going fine, i ended up yesterday being over-points which is not that good either but i’ll just be more carefull the next days then!

Surfing the Net a few days ago i stumbled upon a few really cool blogs about the Art of the Bento lunch. I think this Wikipedia entry explains it quite well… It’s basically a homemade packed lunch arranged in really cute little boxes. Those boxes may look tiny but they can hold an impressive amount of food if arranged with skill and they are really pretty to look at.
It seems that BentoTV and Lunch in a Box are quite the authorities…. Personally i’m totally hooked to Sarah from BentoTV, i think her little videoblog rocks and is packed with tons of really good tips on how to pack your lunch and most of all WHAT foods to pack. She has a really good Ebay shop too, and i’m considering getting my first box there :). I like Lunch in a Box because it’s a colourful blog with loads of tutorials and How-To’s with pictures and all, very instructive.
The reason why i’m writing all of this is because, at last week’s WW meeting i was talking to the Coach about my difficulties in eating healthily because i work at my parent’s Restaurant and i don’t have 100% control over the food i’m being served. Even if i tell the cook to use less fat and more veggies i can never be sure about the foods value actually. So she said it might be good to consider packing my food and bringing it to work to eat there, that way i’m in control of what i have and planning would be much easier to do… My first idea was “Ewwww how boring! I don’t want to have soggy Pasta and Sandwiches everyday for Lunch!!” but now that i saw these little boxes filled with goodness i’m much more positive about packed lunches. So i’m going to get me a Bento box ASAP and i will try and pack interesting and nutritive lunches for myself, can you tell i’m excited?! I have a new thing to achieve now :D

As the title says it, it’s been a bad week for me!

I have been out for dinner TWICE this week which is not good honestly. Wednesday was Indian where i had samosas as a starter and then chicken Korma as a second. I ate wayyyyy too much that evening, but it was so good and i hadn’t had Indian food for ages! Then Friday evening i went out to dinner with some golfmates. We went to a little traditional restaurant i had been to once before. I had Steak Tartare (raw minced beef prepared in a spicy sauce) with chips and salad and as dessert i had Chocolate Fondant… Again i felt so stuffed after that, so it was way too much food! I got really sick that night around 5am, i don’t want to go into details on that but trust me it was not pretty and excrutiatingly painful! Had to skip work yesterday too, and stayed in bed the whole day not even being able to keep some water inside me. Man, i have never ever been so sick in my entire life, that was truly exhausting!!! I feel slightly better now, but i still haven’t had any food since friday. Now this might sound slightly crazy but i actually stepped on the scales this morning and was pleased to find i had dropped 3 kg, even though i know that it’s only water i’m still happy with that… I must be out of my mind honestly :D And i know that the weight will be coming back as soon as i start eating solids again, so i better not get too used to it.

Hope you all had a good weekend?

Here’s a video of the new Mika song. It’s called “big girls”…. Now, i saw it on mtv a few days ago and i’m not quite sure what to think of it!? Is he making fun of ‘em or praising them? The video gets pretty ridiculous when all those big girls dance around in skimpy outfits… Anyway i’d love to know your opinion on this!

Can’t embed the video for some reason so here’s the Link to it, enjoy!

This week has just rushed past me…. Can’t believe it’s already Friday?!

I have been really busy the whole time. At work there was plenty to do, even though there weren’t that many customers around, but there’s always paperwork to file and staff to handle (i hate both :) ). Then there’s the big Golf tournament i’m playing on Sunday. I’m not sure if i wrote about it yet, but all in all it’s an event where all the players compete representing their Nations (whether of choice or real) and there’s a “best dressed” prize too. So this year i’m representing Italy, and i’m going dressed as a Roman in a kind of Toga that i did myself. Elodie (my teammate) will be dressed the same even though she’s not italian, so that’s quite cool! I made the Togas from fabric i bought at Ikea, i think they look quite good because i painted some pattern on it in the italian colours :) so that’s it, i’ve been busy trying to get us a decent costume fixed… Then the furniture for my flat will be coming on monday, so i got quite excited about that. I’m sooooo looking forward to seeing it all nicely arranged (it’s only dining room and lounge for the moment, my kitchen will be due next month only). That’s why i had to check with the guy that paints the whole thing if he can finish his work in time, i hope so!

So with all this going on i have been doing fine foodwise. I feel like the meeting on Tuesday was exactly the thing i needed to get me started again! I hope i won’t go too much overboard during the weekend, it’s usually the time of the week where i tend to lose track of my journalling and food intake.

So here comes a little recap of my trip to Scotland.

I landed Thursday the 2nd at Prestwick Airport around 8pm i think and my Aunt came to pick me up so that we could go to the B&B she had booked for us. We were going to spend the night there as it was still a 3 hours drive up to Spean Bridge (near Fort William) and she said we would miss all the scenery if we drove at night. Waking up the next morning we had a full Scottish breakfast (which to me was like an English breakfast actually) and let me tell ya, i just love them english breakfast sausages and the baked beans too. So after that we set off for our trip that took us through some truly breathtaking scenery… And after 3 hours we finally arrived at my Aunts’ partners’ house in Spean Bridge. It’s a really nice house, formerly a Bed and Breakfast, very old-fashioned inside but with a lovely garden and very well kept i thought.

By the time we got there it must have been about 3pm, so we watched a bit of Golf on tv and then headed off to the local Golfclub to hit a few balls… Let me tell you my golf had been bad lately, the kind of where you stand aiming at target and your ball just goes flying off the face in the complete wrong direction, so i lost about 12 or even 15 balls there but Gerald was nice enough to let me have a few of his…….

On the second day we hunted down the Harry Potter steamtrain from Fort William to Mallaig. This consisted of my aunt speeding in her car and us stopping at various viewpoints to get THE perfect shot of it, good fun actually!

This is my best shot of the train Harry Potter Train because i like the small smokeclouds and you can actually see a tiny bit of blue sky in the background.

In Mallaig we stopped for some lunch and postcards. I had a non-WW compatible fish and chips :) which was delicious by the way, i really don’t have fish and chips that often, so that was a real treat! Looking at the datestamp on my pictures i just noticed we made a stop in Arisaig before that and had a walk on the beach and saw the Traigh Golf Course, a very tricky Links course and on that particular day it was just über-windy so i was happy i wasn’t standing on one of those tees to be honest. And we went to Glenfinnan, the Jacobite Monument that was dedicated to the Clansmen who followed Prince Charles Edward in the ‘45 rising for the Stuart Cause. Here’s a shot of the Monument which i’m really proud of Glenfinnan.

Then, on Sunday, came my personal highlight of the trip. We drove all the way over to St Andrews to go and watch the Women’s British Open (in golf of course). That was amaaaaazing and i was truly honoured to be able to set foot on the “home of golf”, infact i had goosebumps the whole day (mind you it could have been because of the cold though :) ). It was great to see the Big Girls play, and let me tell you they are fabulous… I found that they looked much more impressive on TV, well sizewise that is, but when i saw them they looked tiny to me. We followed the 2 last flights, one with Annika Sorenstam in it and the last one with the leader Lorena Ochoa. She won in the end with a score of -7, that was amazing considering the weather conditions over the 4 tournament days. I was really bummed that i didn’t bring my camera, i left it in the car because i thought they were going to check people at the entrances and take them away. But nobody checked us and so it happened that i didn’t have my camera to shoot a picture at the ceremony :( Never mind, i will always remember that day!!! On our way to St Andrews we stopped at The House of Bruar, it’s apparently Scotland’s most famous Country Store, a kind of big, posh shopping mall where you can find local products and fashion. That’s where i bought my dazzling Wellington Boots with red dots on them, i love them but am wondering when i will ever wear them… After a long day on the course and another 3 hour drive back to Spean Bridge we arrived at home very late and had a sleep in the next day. We didn’t do much that day, just went over to Fort William for a look around in the shops (where i managed to still spend some money despite there not being much to buy really!) and then after lunch Gerald and i went for a quick round of golf at his club.

Then we drove to Fort Augustus to see Loch Ness and possibly have a boat tour on it, but as my aunt gets seasick and we were to drive back tomorrow it was better to not take the boat trip. There i had a huge Fish and Chips again with two yummy pieces of fish in crispy batter (how i love batter :) ). We did go to the Loch Ness Visitor Centre though, in desperate search of a Nessie head cover for my driver but they didn’t have any unfortunately so i got a few postcards and a mini Nessie and we left. We drove past Uruqhart Castle too to take a picture, we didn’t take the tour either as it was a total rip off… But i did manage to get a good picture of it Uruqhart Castle

On our way back to Geralds’ we stopped at the Commando Memorial too to take some pictures and have a look, here’s what it looks like Commando with me infront of it looking very cold.

Then came my last day…. We went for a quick game of Tennis outside seeing as the sun was shining then (typical, just when i’m leaving the weather gets good). I hadn’t had a racket in my hand for 8 years until then, i forgot how tiring Tennis is :P I thought i was doing terrible but after a while i got a little used to it and it came back little by little. After packing all my stuff we got into the car to go back to Prestwick Airport and that was the trip to Scotland.

I had a great time thanks to my Aunt and Gerald and i’d like to thank them for having me over for a week. It was great and i will definitely go back there some time. The weather could have been better, but hey! it wouldn’t be Scotland if it was sunny ;) I had way too much food there, even though we did walk alot and everything i did put on about 500gr but i was on Holidays and there were so many things that i wanted to eat there (i did not have Haggis though).

(PS: this entry took me a week to write… tsssss terrible)

I’m back from my fabulous week in the Scotish Highlands and let me tell you, it was truly beautiful!!! I usually go to somewhere scorching hot in summer but this turned out to be so much fun even if i didn’t get to sunbathe or have a party with a bunch of German tourists….

I left last Thursday and got back this Thursday early at 3 am.

I’m going to try to do a little summary of all i did up in Scotland in the few days with pictures and everything :) please be patient as i need to sort all the stuff out still (pictures, maps and others)

Foodwise… Hm well it’s been reasonable. I have not been journaling but i feel like i did the right choices in the last couple of weeks. Right now i’m at about 93.5 kg which is about what i was when i started out WW 4 weeks ago, but inbetween i had been putting on a little bit so i’m quite happy that i’m back to where i started (which really is pathetic, right?!)

This one will be a short post, i’m exhausted and really need to get to bed.

Have a good night you all!

Hiya People! This post was originally posted a few minutes ago on my other blog, but i thought i’d share a laugh with you all, so sit back, read and feel free to laugh out loud… this one goes on me ;)

Squirrels are not cute!!!

Infact they bite, and when they do it’s very painful…. A very cute squirrel got into one of our hotelrooms through an open window at lunchtime! The maids were all panicky and so i went up with a waiter to check on the situation. We tried to shoo it out a window but it would always run in a wrong direction until it ran inside a room and we got in and closed the door.

We must have chased the poor thing around the room for at least a good 20 minutes, trying to get it into a cardboardbox or a towel. The little chap started getting tired and slow and when i finally got a grab of him and was screaming “hey, i got him!!” he bit me real hard in two fingers. The blood came running real quick and of course, the tears too…

My mum sent me straight to hospital to get a Tetanos injection and one for Rabies, just in case because you can never know right. So i walked into emergencies with my bloody hands and just blurted out “i just got bit by a squirrel” to a nurse, all the while tears were streaming down because it was painful and swollen! Now can you please imagine one moment how the people looked at me when i told them the story??!! That sounds truly stupid to me, and i think i would have smiled too if somebody came up to me and said he actually got attacked by a squirrel?! The doctor came and looked at the bites and just said “Miss this may look really harmless, but we will still need to get you vaccined against Tetanos and the Rabies!” and i’m like “fine, fire away!”. Nurse gets back and asks me my weight which i give her (by now i am even more embarassed and still crying like a baby). After 10 minutes the doc comes back and says he will have to inject me 12ml of that Rabies thingy into my body, and i’m like “bloody hell thats alot of liquid” and he says well it’s proportional to your weight really, we can’t do less than that….. Injections freak me out, but i usually just close my eyes and get it over with, but this time that was like 7 injections in total?! All this because a squirrel bit me?! No way! The injections were really painful by the way, 2 of em had to be done inside the bites, that hurt big time :(

I’m out of hospital now but need to get back there tomorrow morning so that the doc can check on the bites if there is an infection plus i gotta go back to get more injections against Rabies, like one every couple of days until mid august… That totally bums me, i hate it!

Soooooo children, what do you learn from this??? Do not touch small furry animals that come from the wilderness, ever, even if they look über-cute to you…. Bugger, bugger, bugger!!!!

Yep, it is… And it’s the day i have decided to get a grip of myself and get back on the WW train!

Sofar my day has been okay, am not craving rich foods because the heat is just too much. Just had a diet cottage cheese with fresh strawberries and it was just what i wanted, nice and fresh.

Today i feel like i can really stick to the plan. Isn’t it amazing how some days it just comes all naturally and others you find yourself struggling real hard to stay within points range?

Note to self: you did not want those cookies, you were just bored …. next time drink a glass of water!!!
