Weighing In :-)

Posted by My_Life_Now on April 8th, 2008

I was MUCH happier with this weeks weigh in.  Lost 1.2 pounds - that’s more like it!  LOL!

Yesterday I went home and heated up leftovers for dinner for DD#2 and myself.  The older kids were at theater practice, and the hubby was working.  After dinner, DD#2 and I went for a 25 minute walk.  I could have gone longer, but she was getting a little tired and I had to get back home to make dinner (not enough leftovers to reheat) for the second shift (kids and hubby).  :-)  I plan to walk everyday a minimum of 25 minutes with the baby (yeah, she’s still my baby even though she’s turning 6 next week).  It’s good exercise for the both of us, and we also get to spend time together and talk while we walk.  She got a huge kick out of it.

I also did some ab work in the morning and again before bed.  I have the Yoga Booty Ballet DVD’s.  I’m not crazy about the DVD to tell you the truth, but there is a segment on abs and I decided to try it.  It’s a short segment, like maybe 5 minutes.  Which is good because I can get it in before work, and then before bed.  The first time I did it, I really didn’t feel anything.  I felt like I was wasting my time.  I gave it another shot because I thought maybe I was doing the exercise wrong.  The second time was a tad more challenging.  The third time - OMG!!!  The exercises were the same, the intensity that I was doing them was the same, but I could really, REALLY feel it in the abs.  So I’m going to stick with this workout twice a day until I’m ready to move on to a different work out.  My biggest problem area is my tummy, and I know I will probably always have a little extra skin, but it would be nice to have it as tight as it can be.

I know I will need to step up the exercising, but this is a start for now.  I need to work up to 4 activity points a day in order to get in the 28 a week that WW suggests (especially when going into maintenance).

Small NSV:  I was sitting on the couch watching a movie with the hubby, and I was feeling snacky.  I had some points available, and some AP’s.  I’m trying not to eat after 7 though, and it was already 8:30.  I drank some diet iced tea instead, and that didn’t curb the urge to snack.  But I still resisted, and before I knew it the movie was over and it was time for bed!  I knew I really wasn’t hungry, so I wasn’t denying myself - I was being true to myself.  And that felt good because any other day I would have probably caved into the tempation, and probably eaten something that wasn’t healthy.

Thanks for stopping by.  :-)

Congratulations on your NSV! Decisions like those are the kind that are going to get you to goal! They totally add up! So keep up the fabulous work, the smart decisions, the ab work out and your daily walks - sounds like you have an excellent plan for yourself!

Thanks for the comment. It is true if we wait long enough or keep busy usually we can forget or get past the craving.
I think walking with your daughter is a great idea. Me and my 9 year old daughter walked yesterday. It was nice to have the one on one time with her and talk about whats going on at school and her upcoming birthday. Plus teaching her that exercising can be fun.
