Honestly, it is bad enough that my weight goes up and down like a rollercoaster, and as of late it seems my life is on the same ride. I don’t want to get into my “issues” on this site because well this is my safe place and my place for my journey on losing weight, not what is going on in my personal life.
But I’ll tell you, the things that are happening (not awful, just rough) keep me from staying on plan. Or I should say because of the things that are happening I KEEP MYSELF from staying on plan. I’ve been feeling a little anxious and depressed, and well I’m one of those people that turns to food when feeling this way. I wish I were the opposite where problems cause me to NOT EAT. But alas, I am an emotional eater. I realize I’m just trying to find a way to comfort myself, but I really need to find another way to find the solace that I need.
I’ve started reading again, something I’ve neglected because life is so busy, but I really enjoy a good book and so every night I try and read 15-20 minutes before bed. I’ve rediscovered the libraby so I’m not spending so much money on books. Yay me!
I did start hiking again with my hiking group, though we only do that two times a month. Again, family, life, things just get busy! LOL! I really enjoy the hikes to because my older DD (15) goes with me too. We have a great time together, and it’s our special mother daughter time.
I am trying really hard to find other things that are more constructive rather than eat food to distract me from my problems. I’m planning a trip to the Phoenix Zoo with my DD’s in two weeks. I’ve lived here a little over 3 years now and have never been there. It will serve a triple purpose - a great day out with my girls, a wonderful walk to add up them activity points, and a SUPER NICE distraction for the other things going on in my life.

Well, I’m a little disappointed with my day yesterday. I started out great, and made it right through dinner - no problems. But I failed in the water department. Fell short two glasses.
Then I let life get in the way. I normally pick up my five year old after work, and then head home. I walk through the door and get into my workout duds and get dinner started. I workout while dinner is cooking. Well yesterday I had to run to the store first so I was already out of my routine. I picked up a cheesecake for my son’s birthday (today) and my husband’s birthday (tomorrow). So I walk through my door, and it’s already kind of late (was at the store longer than I expected) and I do not change into my workout duds. Started dinner up right away, but didn’t take the time to work out while it was cooking. Then I indulged in a piece of french bread w/ a little butter (LOVE THAT BREAD). After dinner, we dug into the cheesecake to celebrate the birthdays - and I DID NOT CHECK POINTS BEFORE EATING IT!!! When will I learn? It was like 6.5 points (rounded up). That’s a lot! In total I went over by like 12 points yesterday, and I only get 19. Thank goodness for flexies!
What did I learn from this (again), I should have PLANNED better. Not eaten the entire slice of cheesecake. I could have probably eaten half of eat and been as equally satisfied. I’m not going to beat myself up about it. Today is a new day. New choices.

Today is day 5 on WW (yep, I’m starting as though it were the first time - lol!), and I’m feeling pretty good. I’ve gone over on my points a little each day, BUT have exercised to offset the overages. Down a pound, only 29 more to go.
I’ve worked out 5 days in a row, which is a HUGE deal for me. I am actually feeling a little tired surprisingly, but that isn’t going to stop me from hitting the treadmill again tonight! All the while I’m running on the treadmill I just keep telling myself keep moving, you can do it and before I know it I’ve gotten myself through it.
Official weigh in is Friday. Fun, fun.

Okay, my official start date was going to be yesterday, but you know what? I didn’t record. SO I’m starting today.
And BOY, have I been out of it for such a long time! When I first did the plan I was really, really good about retaining info as far as what to order and what not to order. I would always check the points for a restaurant before I got there so I would know what to order. Eventually I got to a point I didn’t need to check anymore because I got so good at it! Well, no more! :-) I went to Subway today and ordered a 6 inch Tuna Sandwich, and I didn’t think it would be that high in points. I know it has mayo, but I didn’t think it had THAT much may to make it a 12 point sandwich! And that’s without cheese (which I normally forego, but since I thought the tuna wouldn’t be that bad I said what the hey, put some cheese on there!). DANG! I learned my lesson. I will not do that again anytime soon! LOL! Live and learn.
Well, good luck to me for the rest of the day as I only have 2 points left to my day! LOL! I have to dip into those flexies. Woohoo!

Wow, I don’t post in over a month and BAM, three in one day! LOL!
I realized one of the last times I posted I had let you all know that I was going to Vegas with the hubby for our anniversay. Well, we went, and I LOVED it! My first time there. The picture above is of the hubby and I at the Venetian - BEAUTIFUL!
We didn’t win any money, but we didn’t break the bank either! We spent what we said we were going to spend, and we had a very relaxing weekend (just the two of us).
We’re already planning our next trip there! Woohoo!

WOW! It has been a LONG while since I last posted. Sadly, nothing new to report on the weight loss front.
My personal life has just been kind of rough for the last couple of months, so weight loss was just not a priority. I’m trying to get back to “me”. Easier said than done, let me tell you. But I’m here. I’m alive. I’m surviving. I’m getting through it and am trying to refocus and concentrate on getting myself healthy in all areas of my life so that I can continue to deal with the current challenges in my life. I know everything will work itself out in the end, but the getting there is just tough.
I’m starting up my hiking group again. I’m so excited about that. We had a group of people from my job hiking every other Saturday for over a year and a half - and I’m not sure what happened, but we all sort of drifted away from it. One of the members called me this afternoon and she said she really missed it. And I do too. So we’re going to do it again. Great way to exercise and definitely socialize! Small step to a better me.
I’m trying to get back into the blogging, and am looking forward to reading all of the blogs that are on weightwatchen again.
I hope all of you had a fantastic 2007 - and here is to 2008! Cheers!
