I am currently helping a friend through her weight loss journey. I myself have been on the Weight Watcher’s journey for 1 year and 6 months. Last year I lost 29 pounds and gained back 13 because I veered from the program. Well, I’m back to get to goal. I’ve lost 4 of the 13 so far.
I am trying to help my friend by giving her pointers that I’ve learned through Weight Watchers. And the main thing I’ve learned is that you have to plan. You need to know what it is that you are going to put in your month, and what the points value is (if you do points).
My friend went to Quizno’s today without checking the menu items, and the calories associated with their menu items. She tried to make the best choice possible from the menu before her. She ordered their Flatbread Roasted Chicken Salad with Honey Mustard. This salad is 22 points! 17 if you don’t have the dressing. Luckily she eliminated the dressing and the flatbread, so she ate mabye an 11 point salad. I think that 11 points is kind of high for one meal (especially a salad), but that’s just me. She checked with me after the fact, and was disappointed at how high the salad was only because it left her with very limited points for her dinner.
I told her not to sweat it because that is the beauty of flexies, but I could totally relate to what she felt like.
I like to plan about a week ahead because I cook for me and for my family. The best thing about WW is that it’s not a diet, but a lifestyle. And my entire family benefits from healthier choices. Not to mention it feels good to eliminate the guessing game and have a plan. I love knowing what I’m going to have to eat. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not rigid. There are room for changes because some things don’t happen the way you plan them, but for the most part planning helps keep me “in the game”.
Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by. :0)

I hope everyone is having a fun and safe Fourth of July. It was a quiet day for me around the house. My hubby is working today, and my 16 year old son is also at work. So it was just my two girls and I today. We just hung out and ran some errands, and went by my mother’s house for a little bit. Food wasn’t really an issue today because no one was really having a barbecue so I ate sensibly. :0) About the worst thing I did was have a Starbucks Venti Iced Vanilla Latte with Non Fat Milk (5 points). I didn’t feel bad about it though because I only induldge once a week. Gotta have my latte.
I had a GREAT weigh in this morning. I was surprised only because I wasn’t really great with the water Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Maybe I would have had a bigger loss if I had drank the water, but I’m very happy with the 1.4 pound loss.
Weight (restarting WW): 153.8
Weight 6/13/07: 152 (1.8 lb. loss)
Weight 6/20/07: 151 (1 lb. loss)
Weight 6/27/07: 149.8 (1.2 lbs. loss)
Weight 7/4/07: 148.4 (1.4 lbs. loss)
Weight lost to date: 5.4 lbs.

I weighed in this morning and was down a pound! Woohoo! Stats are below. I just want this weight to come off so fast because I’ve been heavy for such a long time. I know realistically that I need to lose this weight s-l-o-w-l-y as I will have more success keeping the weight off. But I’ll tell you, I’m ready to be thinner, healthier.
I’ve started exercising more. I thought I would see a higher loss at the scale this morning, but it’s a pound. I’ll take that.

I was only a part of this community for a short time, and I am repeating everyone’s sentiments here. I’M SO GLAD IT’S BACK!
I truly enjoyed reading everyone’s journeys and seeing the inspiration and encouragement everyone gives to each other.
I’m not real savy when it comes to technical stuff, so I’m going to try and put my page back together, but will have to start from scratch as I do not know how to recapture my “stuff”.
I hope to have my progress page back up within the next couple of days.
Can’t wait to read all of your inspiring journeys.
Stap OP, and thanks for stopping by.
