Good vs. Evil
I remember one day I wanted lunch and thought that since I had been doing so well on my weight loss journey, I would get a Big Mac. I literally had the angel and the devil whispering in my ear. The devil was saying how I deserved it…how I had been so good…the angel on the other hand had me look around. While sitting in the very long line, I noticed (unlike the McDonald’s commercials) not one skinny person walked in or out of McDonalds. I got out of that line and went to Subway.

Does anyone else out there have similar experiences?Â

I remember one day I wanted Chipotle (owned by McDonalds if you didn’t know). I used to eat at Chipotle on a regular basis before WW. After I heard my Burrito Bowl was a 24 point lunch, not to mention the chips and guacamole I love so dearly, I had a hard time returning. I decided one day that I really deserved to have a burrito bowl, only to drive around the parking lot three times, leave and go home for lunch. I’ve found that my black bean salsa wraps helps fight that urge.

Congrats on getting out of line! It’s not the easiest thing to do. I’ve done it before in the drive through line at Long John Silvers (I LOVE their chicken, lol) and that was pretty ackward, but it takes MAJOR commitment! With actions like that you are sure to reach your goal!
Those moments are truly enlightening. I need a few more of those right about now. You’re right though. The worst places are buffets- which used to be one of my favorite types of restaurants to visit. It seems that a very large percentage of people at buffets are overweight. It’s easy to see why.
Very interesting! I did not know Chipolte was owned by McDonalds. Things that make you go hmmmm! Great observations…way to make a better choice.
I felt kind of bad posting it because I really don’t want people to think I have anything against people that struggle with their weight. I was one of them. It really did help to look around. Thanks for the replies
