Mr. Scale was polite this morning… 192.5. Which means I’m down 1.5 pounds! So I’ll take it. My goal for the week was to loose 1…so 1.5 is a nice bonus! Now I have to find a place to hide him. I don’t want to WI again until next Sunday morning.

Hubby, the dog and I are supposed to go to the park today for a nice long walk. And then I have TONS of school work to catch up on. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!!!

I can’t believe it has been so long since I’ve posted over here…I totally miss it.  I imported my blogs from blogger….so that is why there are ZILLION posts!  Can’t wait to catch up with everyone’s blogs!!!

We’ll see what Mr. Scale says tomorrow. My last WI was 194. My goal is to get out of the 190’s…so I know that won’t happen this week…but soon…especially with stats like I just listed above. But I would love to see 193 tomorrow. And then I think I might hide the scale for a week and see what happens!! I don’t know if I can do it!!

And I only worked out 5 of the 7 days this week. Granted on Wednesday I did double duty….spent time at the gym and took the dog out to the park. And the same for today Weights and Elliptical at the gym and then a 3 mile walk with the dog.

The most noticeable thing is that I have tons more energy!! So that is a HUGE plus. And hte fact that I have a desire to work out. Yesterday I spent the am in my classroom, ate lunch with one of my buddies and her 8 week old daughter (what a cutie!!!), got a cavity filled (I hate shots in my mouth) and went to trader joe’s. When I got home hubby asked if I wanted to go to dinner right away….and I said, “No…I want to go for a run!” He was cool with it since he wanted a nap. In the past I would sit and watch tv while he napped…but not yesterday! Talk about a NSV!!

So here are my goals for this coming week -

Calories burned - 3500 again
move - 10 miles a week
Weights/strength - 2-3 days/week
Eat smart - And stay with in my 27 points!

Here is the work out plan for the week:
Sunday - take the dog on a 4+ mile walk at the park - I hope the weather is nice
Monday - Weights and some type of cardio
Tuesday - get up EARLY 5am and run
Wednesday - volleyball and bootcamp
Thursday - Run with the teachers after school
Friday - Run with the teachers after school
Saturday - Weights and take the dog on a walk

Two workouts in one day! yikes!! Blue was a handful this afternoon…whining and wanting to go out. So I finally gave in and took him to the park. We ran 2 miles and then walked another 1/2 mile. I’m tuckered…but not Blue. Figures.

Today’s Stats-

And I only ate my 27 points! Day one on plan!!

I’m pretty proud of those stats. I know that everyday won’t look like that but it is a very decent start!!

Yesterday I had an aha moment. I finally figured it out why I haven’t been loosing, even though I’ve been working my fanny off. Well let me tell ya it is the dielightfully sinful, warm, chocolately, carmely, whip cream goodness of a Bigby Mocha Carmel. For some odd reason I had convinced myself that they weren’t that bad especially if I only have this delish drink once a week. Well some how once a week turned into 2-3 a week. If I had to go to a meeting - which was a lot the last two weeks - I would grab a mocha carmel or another similar drink and enjoy not thinking twice about it!! Well that wonderful 20 oz grande drink is just shy of 400 calories, 9 grams of fat, and 2 grams of fiber for a whopping 8 points!! One a week might not be bad…but 3 is almost all of my points for one day!!

So now I am not only going to work harder (keeping up with the strength trainging, my nike + runs, and other cardio) I’m also going to get smarter. Which means back to counting EVERYTHiNG!! Obviously I got a little (read a lot) too comfortable with my guesstimating points.

As for goals - I am hoping to do the following.
1. Burn a minimum of 3500 calories a week - I’m already at 1400 and some change! And that is only 2 days of work out. So should be easy!
2. Run atleast 10 miles a week - 4.5 miles already!! And I’m taking the dog out for another spin this afternoon.
3. Strength training 2-3 times a week
4. Eat smart - write it down. Try to keep it to my 27 points!!
5. Get out of the 190s

OH yeah…almost forgot for the first time ever I had the treadmill at 5.0mph…typically I run at 4.4 or 4.5 on the TM. But I kept at the 5.0 pace for a whole mile!!! YUP a whole stinking mile! I ran my miles in 12 minutes!!! WOoT WooT!!!

makes for a very happy Melanie!!! Blue is out cold on the carpet after our 3.3 mile run with a half mile walk! I need to remember that running is not only good for me but also for the dog!!

YEAH ME!!!

While spring break is here and even spring is here…the weather man didn’t get the notice this year. We were snow free, except for the big piles that hadn’t melted yet…but this morning we have almost a foot of fluffy white stuff!! What is up with that??

The wonderful thing about it is that it is spring break and I have 10 days off of work!! OH YEAH!! The hubby is a bit jealous though.

I am looking forward to getting outside and running with the dog. I ran again using my nike + thing and I love it. I ran for 30 minutes straight…it is amazing…I actually feel like a runner!

Wish me luck - I’m cooking on Easter Sunday for my inlaws!!

For my birthday in February my family got me the Nike + system for my ipod. I finally figured out how to work it. And I LOVE IT!!! If you haven’t heard of it check it here. But I’ll try to give you a run down. There is a little sensor that goes in the sole of your shoe if you have a pair of Nike shoes, or I just tucked mine in my laces and it seems to hold it pretty well (I did order a little pouchy thing to attach it to my shoe - I don’t want to press my luck and loose it!) Any who - the other part clips into the ipod. The foot sensor sends information (distance, calories and pace) about your run to your ipod.

Once you get home and sync it to your computer - you can then sync it to the nike plus page where it tracks your runs for you. It not only tells you how you did on your most recent run - but it also keeps track all of your runs for you. And you can set different goals for yourself and join in challenges on the nike+ site.

I did my first run with it today - just a short one since I had to get home after my work out. But here is what I did. I also set a goal to do 25 miles in 4 weeks! Wish me luck!


I’m gaining on you girl! You might want to get back to the gym - I’m hot on your trail. 856 calories at the gym tonight. I did tons of weights - you name it I did it! And then after hitting the weights hard I ran for 25 minutes straight. No stopping - no walking - continuous running for 2 miles! Oh yeah!!! So I’m sure we will be talking soon - I’ll be taking that little outfit from you and those boots! Better watch your back girly!!

Never have I been so excited to get a phone call before 5am!! My hubby was already up and I believe his exact words when I answered the phone was, “I hate you!” He is just jealous since his work NEVER closes!! Today has been an awesome snow day! We got about 6 inches at my house, but the sun is out and it is a gorgeous blue sky day. Something that Michigan doesn’t see a lot of in the winter! If only all of our snow storms came with days like this I so would not be a whiner like I was yesterday. Today’s weather reminds me of a California winter day! I LOVE IT!! I even drove with my sunroof open on my way home from the gym! Springs is a coming baby!!! And I say….”Bring it!!!”

And it has been a productive day! Even though I slept in till 8:30ish….I cleared the driveway of snow with the snow blower and some shoveling (about 300 calories burned). And then I headed off to the gym - did a weight circuit and c25k week 6 day 1 (757 calories burned). So here it is 3pm and I have over 1000 calories burned! OH YEAH BABY!!
