Candy Fest =/

Posted by MagicalShrinkingNancy on 16th November 2007

Tuesday November 13th

Breakfast: KS blueberry yogurt

Lunch : sandwich on moms homemade bread. 2 slices wheat bread, little mayo & mustard, lettuce, pickles, 2 slices turkey, 1 slice muenster w/jalapeno cheese

I don’t know if remembered all of what I ate, in the evening I got a flu shot and then I went to the store with mom, and I followed her example, buying tons of candy that I shouldn’t have…

I ate some of it.. some of each kind except the chocolate orange
1 serve of the symphony bar (13 pt)4.5
around 1 serve each rollos & reeses  (9.5 + 13) 4.5 + 5
Sunbelt fudge bar - 12 pts, when i bought these i thought they’d be like …4-5 … apparently i’m not that good at estimating yet.. I also didn’t imagine any of those candies were over 8 points a serving… and then I ate them over the next few days

onli 4.5 =D not so bad afterall… ditzy nancy used fat CALS instead of fat grams xD

Wednesday November 14th
extra large banana nut muffin 15 pts
big salad with 6 oz (4-5?) chicken + salad dressing (abt 2-3pt)
way too much chocolate
1 serving portion of Symphony bar 13pt 4.5
1 serving of Chocolate orange 13.5 pt  5.5
sunbelt fudge dipped coconut bar 12 pt 4.5
Rollos 9.5 pts 4.5
reeses mini cups 13 pts 5

o.o

EW

This is what I get for buying candy… that was a horrible day point wise, over 70.

lmao… i was putting in fat calories for fat grams *phew* It was still bad but not 13 pts a treat xD

32.. :P
Nov 15th

Lt Coffee - 1pt
simply asia take out box 16 pts (8 pts each, 2 servings in a box… but it was one package so… i ate the whole thing)
salad + dressing, 2 pts from dressing
chicken - 2.5 ?
cheese tortilla 1.5 serve cheese, taco size tortilla 4.5+3
1 serving symphony bar 4.5
1 serve choc orange 5.5
sunbelt fudge dipped coconut bar  4.5
5 pc rolo 3.5
3 pc reeses  3
I ate more of that candy.. theres a little left. Lets see how long it will last. Maybe I’ll give away those granola bars. No need now that i know they’re only 4.5 .. .right where I thought they’d be :)

total 50

I’ve been doing a little exercise, 15-20 mins a day. I haven’t been really sticking with my training, but I have been exercising.

Mile one, accomplished!

Posted by MagicalShrinkingNancy on 11th November 2007

YAY we did it! Two of us did our mile, one did a half-mile! :D

Go us!

We approximated that 20 laps around my parents back yard is 1 mile. Two of us (the younger two with no children) did all 20 laps, 2nd from oldest did half her laps, then had to take care of her son and never made it back out, and nobody else did any. Then we did DDR (finally :D ) all 4 girls did DDR and liz did one round. I only have 2 mats so we were taking turns but we’d stand around and do the moves anyway. It was great! The only problem is that I’m still energized and its 2:18 am o.o

However I didn’t do that great at eating today

appx 1 C Organic Rasin Bran + 1/2 C soymilk

2 c broccoli w/ bottled ranch dressing

1 slice Mom’s home made wheat Bread with honey

Big bowl of stew (appx 2 cups) including lots of veggies a little meat a little rice and the liquid.

With a few more slices of bread with butter

A few mini candy bars (like 5)

I think thats all. for food… gonna go take my calcium pill right now and I had lots of water today… so… I’ll have to calculate this later… its so late xD wheee *falls off chair*

I’m a Marathon runner in training :)

Posted by MagicalShrinkingNancy on 9th November 2007

WOW that feels good.

Tomorrow is supposed to be our first run.

I don’t know whether or not I have any regular readers, but if I do, you’ve probably noticed that lately I’ve gotten REALLY bad about posting daily. Even when I do catch up my posts they’re only half done and lately I’ve just posted one post for a few days.

I want you all to know that there’s a REALLY Good reason for all of this. :)

I don’t know whether or not I mentioned that I moved into my new room, it was a tuesday. Then on saturday I mentioned that I moved furniture. Well now I’m mostly moved into my new room but I’m still all mixed up. The closet isn’t finished yet so all my day clothes are still in the other side along with my shoes. When we moved the dresser I got sick of hauling drawers so I left four of them in the other room. I moved a few that night but one is still in there, my socks. It acctually has worked pretty well to have them over there with my shoes and day clothes.  But everything’s all mixed up and stuff is missing cause only my furniture and what was in the drawers has been moved. Two of the nightstands that were in my room don’t belong in there and they have a bunch of stuff of mine in them. I still have to find a place for all of it along with all my stuff I’ve been keeping on the floor and in cardboard boxes. I am determined not to let my new room become a rat hole. This is the reason I haven’t been posting much.

A few nights ago I saw a program on PBS, they took a group of 12 highly sedentary people and trained them over the course of 40 weeks to run a marathon. Only one had to drop out, due to medical issues. They added another to the team a while into training. All twelve that made it to the race completed it, three of them took nearly seven hours, but they all made it. I was highly inspired by this program and I was telling my mother about it the next day, we decided we wanted to try it. I took their training calendar and adjusted it to start in december after my college classes would be over, it put the marathon in september. I e-mailed this calendar to my sisters and mom, to feel it out, see if I could maybe slowly warm people up to the idea of doing this with me, The two who got the e-mail (one doesn’t have internet right now) were both pretty excited, my sister who lives 300 miles away asked me where this marathon was… I sorowfully had to tell her I hadn’t found one yet. She jumped right on the wagon and helped me find one that would be somewhat convenient for all of us, it’s in the city (Salt lake city utah) where she and #4 (sister w/o net right now) live and the rest of us visit fairly often. There was a problem though, the marathon is in April, we were trying to decide if we could push ourselves that hard, to be able to run 26 miles that soon. I shifted the calendar to start right away, but that still put the marathon mark quite far past April 19th. When looking at course information I discovered that they allowed walk-a-marathon participants, I had already thought of this, but I didn’t know if it was allowed. I was about to suggest it when I saw the half-marathon category. PERFECT! I thought.. So I suggested it to everyone and we all think we can do it. Now, acctually doing the training is going to be the tough part. My sister’s sister-in law (her husband’s sister) lives just a block from where I work and wants to do this with us, we think. We’re really hoping to be able to stick with it and spread this infection, the bigger we can get our group, the more dedicated we will all be, to eachother and the race. This re-writing the training calendar has been what has been tying up my computer time lately. Now it’s finished. We’re all really excited, my oldest sister is going to be in town tomorrow, we can all do our first run together! Mom e-mailed me back and said “I’ll try, but there ain’t no way I can run 1-2 miles yet.” Just so you all know, she has the best (or next to) grammar of anyone I know.. the wording was to be funny. Anyway, with her in on it, there’s almost nothing that’s gonna stop me from doing this. EEK! I just remembered.. :D Liz i think is comming too! OMG so exciting… but dad will prolly be weird about it… oh well… what comes, comes, if others stop because of people in their life, they do, but I don’t plan to.  I want to spread this infection as far as I can. We’ve started an online group for our running group, if anyone here wants to do the training and have online connections I’ll start up a second one for our Virtual Running Group :)

Maintaining internet stuff should become easier for me. I’m going to be getting a computer in my room soon. Before it was basically like I had one in my room, it was in the next room, but now I’m across the house. After Dec 7th my time will free up immensely. Unless I do something crazy like take calculus ;) WHEE… stop me before I hit the wall :P jk… :D

<3 <3

Wishing you all the very best

Nancy

(Don’t forget to let me know if you want me to start this group)

Ketchup Ketchup with everything Ketchup

Posted by MagicalShrinkingNancy on 9th November 2007

Catching up again :P

Friday November 9th - Today

Breakfast… I don’t think I ate anything

Lunch Pizza Pocket hot pocket

Snack Golden almond granola bar by sunbelt; less than 1/2 serving smoked almonds; Strawberry Kiwi Shasta Soda

Rest of my lunch : applesauce single serve

Dinner : hasnt happened yet … I will catch up point countings and stuff for the past few weeks soon hopefully.

Appx water today (so far, 5pm ) 2 cups

Thursday November 8th

I don’t think I exercised

Breakfast: Lunch:

Cinnamon rolls + coffee drinks

Dinner: Mom made french onion soup, salmon, seasoned potatos, and salad for dinner for a birthday celebration :) YUM YUM Hehe… Yum. 2 c french onion soup + the bread slice on top of it, a peice of fish about the size of a deck of cards :P that’s a serving, right? … I’m really bad at approximating serving sizes of meats… any tips would be awesome. At least 2 cups of salad with ceaser vinegrette dressing.. i think thats what it was called. oh and a slice of white bread… not quite french bread, not sure what it was.

Later I was hungry so I got some more of my yummy broccoli and pea pods out and was munching on them but It wasn’t very filling so I got a slice of bread with peanut butter and bananas. That worked, I was stuffed.

I took my calcium pill :P I haven’t been doing this since I moved (see next post)

Appx water for thursday 6-8 cups

Wednesday November 7th

Split 2 costco muffins in half & ate half of each of them for breakfast cause I couldnt choose a flavor I saved the other halfs. You’ll see them appear somewhere in the next few days. My sister took the other 9 away… The third one I kept I ate later …

I bought a big bag of cut broccoli and a smaller bag of pea pods… I ate 1 sandwich bag full of broccoli, one split between peas and broccoli, and one that was half full of baby carrots for lunch with ranch dressing. YUM.. I think the lack of protein in this “meal” is what caused me to break down later and eat that second muffin.

later I was hungry so I had a peanut butter & honey sandwich (open face, only 1 slice bread) and I ate a bunch of broccoli … had it been anything other than veggies I would feel MASSIVELY guilty about the volume of food I ate that night… But really it just made me happy :) Hehe I love broccoli + ranch. yum yum..

24 spam comments!

Posted by MagicalShrinkingNancy on 7th November 2007

24 spam comments today… and no real ones.

When I looked in my inbox I saw that nearly all of them were on “Yummy Chicken Salad” I don’t see anything on that post that could be attracting spam. I’ve heard of other people deleting links in posts helping with the spam… icky

Anyway….

Catch-up post again

Tuesday (today)

“Breakfast”: :P not… at like 2pm i had a 1oz bag of ruffles potato chips

A while later I had leftover sloppy joe stuff on bread, it was the ends of the bread and they were quite abit thinner than other slices so I’m counting 1.5 pts for both bread peices. Not sure on the appx 3/4-1c sloppy joe filling I put on them.

and right now i’m really hngry, its past midnight, but I’ll have to find something … I’ll finish editing this post tomorrow.

I found something… Pizza.. 4 slices of it. It didnt feel so great in the morning.

Monday

I think I had a yoplait yogurt with some graham crackers, but that could have been saturday.

I remember thinking I shouldn’t have eaten that Nestle Crunch bar

and I had 3 milk chocolate milano cookies … but I don’t remember what if anything I had to drink with them, typically I would have a coffee drink of some sort

I don’t remember monday well… I had a snickers… in the late afternoon

and I think I had some cookies in the middle of the night

Sunday

Breakfast:

  • Shredded potatos
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 sausage links
  • waffle - 1 sqare abt 4-5 in sq
  • maple syrup
  • soymilk

Then while cleaning up i grabbed another sausage link.. It didnt taste that good because I wasn’t really still hungry. I ate a good amount while sitting… my habitual picking in leftovers needs to stop, It’s not as prominent as it used to be.

Then dad made oatmeal rasin cookies :/ then the girls made chocolate chip cookies

Then I only ate a couple … each

Then we had dinner

  • small peice of roast
  • half of a very large potato
  • carrots

I think that was all

I moved a bunch of furniture… rest on the sabbath … heh … not this week… they cancel church and suddenly its not the sabbath? =I

Sunday’s evaluations

WI : Skipped… due to the attack of the rhinovirus (cold) :/

Avg pts for the week: — need to finish all my posts & quit skipping them

I only missed 1 calcium pill this week, sunday, and it was primarily cause I was sick.

Health tips gone bad & Portion Distortion

Posted by MagicalShrinkingNancy on 3rd November 2007

What happened to all those good health habits my parents taught me over the years?

Don’t eat sugar when you’re sick. Never eat sugar before a meal. Eat your veggies. Cookies (icecream, cake)  are a treat, don’t eat a lot of them. etc

Oh … right, they don’t police what I eat anymore. *sigh* I guess I only ever did them because they didn’t want me to.

On another note, some that HAVE stuck with me

Don’t drink soda, it will eat your teeth and bones.  Drink your milk (I’d really like to… honest). Brush your teeth. Cover your mouth when you cough. (more for OTHER’s health)

It’s interesting to see which habits stuck and which ones didn’t.

 Ok .. Food Journal

“Breakfast” (do I dare call it that?)

Cookies & Iced Coffee… inspiration for that bit about the sugar and health habits up top.

I ate the cookies til it seemed like I’d had enough, turns out it was 4 servings. Looks like I’m suffering from Portion Distortion. I noticed this yesterday too, what I’d view as a normal amount of soup was 2 servings.  On another note… I tend to underestimate a serving of chips like cheetoes, but overestimate on flat chips like potato chips & corn chips.

I was watching tv while I cleaned up in my room a few nights ago. A program was on pbs, they took 13 people with highly sedentary lifestyles and over the course of 40 weeks trained them up for a marathon. Only one dropped out, a diabetic woman who got shin splints that were taking a long time to heal. The other 12 finished the marathon. It was pretty inspiring. I was telling my mom about it, she said we should try it. I’m going to see if I can find their (or a similar) training schedule :). I found 18-week and 22-week “walk a marathon” schedules. http://www.pbs.org/americaswalking/health/health18week.html

I think this was saturday but … I don’t remember if i ate anything else.

Oh right.. dad made cookies :P hehe then The girls made cookies. Then mom made dinner… or was that sunday …yeah that was sunday… did i eat on saturday? I honestly can’t remember… that’s what I get for finishing posting saturday on tuesday.

Oh oh i remember… mom & I got those pizzas from the store… from the refrigeration case, next to the cheese… Mmm.. fluffy bread. =/ I ate like 6 peices.

Mittelschmerz… That’s the official name for something I’ve been experiencing for years.  Funny sounding word… I think I have Mittelschmerz. A few days ago I had a pain … not the first time, but It’s been a while since I felt it. So I looked it up again, but it’s the first time I’ve found that word. Some ladies might already know what this is, Mittelschmerz is based on the german for middle of the month. I would go on, but I think I’ll let everyone look it up for themselves. :P
