Baby Carrots & Milky Way

Posted by MagicalShrinkingNancy on October 18th, 2007

Ok, first day back and boy did I eat a lot today. I’m not necessarily proud of it, but I’m not gonna beat myself up over my first day especially when I decided to try again AFTER I had eaten most of this junk :)

10 am-ish
Costco Muffin
Starbucks Iced Coffee
sometime… Milky way o.o Sugar attack!
noon:
Two Pepperoni Pizza Pockets
String Cheese
less than 1 serving lays potato chips
11pm:
Big bowl of salad with way more dressing than I meant to put on it lol, theres still some in the bowl
baby carrots - yum yum =) almost as good as munching on peanut m&ms with NO GUILT =D
glass of soymilk

Eeepsalot… I stepped on the UPSTAIRS scale, 288.5. Kucky. That thing usually weighs me as 6-8lbs more than mom’s, which is what I usually use.  But thats still up a lot during my quit time.

Some plans/goals for myself for this attempt:

I’m going to see if I can un-officially follow weight-watchers points. According to the calculator on Roni’s page (TYVM) I should be eating about 35 points. This sounds REALLY high to me compared with the numbers I see on peoples blogs, but I’ll see how that stacks up with what I eat, assuming I can figure out how to calculate points for what I eat.

Drink 1 cup of soymilk a day

Get on the treadmill at least twice a week.

Take my calcium pills every day - I acctually continued this while I was not posting, so it should go well :)

Daily Points Target 35
Food Points Left
Costco Muffin - 15 points im told, lol, maybe 35 isnt so much after all 15 20
Starbucks Iced Coffee - 100 calories 1g fat 2 18
Milky Way Candy Bar - 6 points of caramel and chocolate 6 12
Hot pockets 8 pts each 16 -4
 string cheese  2  -6
lays 1oz 150 cal 10g fat 3.5 -9.5
Salad with Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing - its hard to calculate non packaged foods 4 -13.5
Carrots 0.1 pts on calculator lol 0 -13.5
Soymilk 2 -15.5
Totals 50.5 -15.5
Day _ in week. Weekly Points Remaining : - - idk what this is so im just leaving it blank
Water: √ - with my calc pill –oops (each √  is 8 oz)
Soymilk: √  Other Dairy equivalents : at least 2
Calcium Pill: √ yup!

Points Calculated with Roni’s Calculator (assuming I input it correctly)

If anyone wants to correct my points calculations or help me out on any of this, you would be very much appreciated :)

We’ll see how this goes :-D

So begins Nancy’s 2nd attempt at some magic.

Roni’s calculator is pretty accurate with the points. For the most part on WW veggies are considered ZERO points except corn and possibly some others. Check out www.dwlz.com for more point info.
Fruit varies but I like ROni’s philosophy of counting it as 1.
If you input your info correctly then you get 35 points a day plus your weekly 35 Flex Points which can be used or not but according to what you ate above then you you used 15 of your 35 for the week so you have 19.5 left.
Personally I’d switch to low or reduced fat string cheese which is typically 1 point, try the LEAN hot pockets if you must eat them and only eat one and then have a BIG salad. Don’t eat any more Costo muffins since they are just deadly empty wasted calories (IMO). No more Milkyway bars. You get my point. From my own personally experience I have managed to totally stay within my points by eating crappy food and gaining which defeats the purpose. The goal is to stay within your points while eating healthier. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!
