It’s about time

Hello!  I’m new!  Yay!

 I’m very excited to be here starting a blog on this community.  I’ve lurked and have been struck by how supportive everyone is.  I look forward to continuing my weight loss journey here!

 I started my weight loss journey in August of 2005.  I weighed in at my first WW mtg at 254.  I had never in my life weighed in at more than 20lbs overweight.  I always hovered around 150 lbs.  My marriage and subsequent divorce led me into a spiral where I used food to make myself feel better.

 I’ve lost 55 lbs using weight watchers but have hit a horrible plateau that has lasted for month - almost a year, actually!

 So I’m going to write here as a way to hold myself accountable for my actions.  That main action being what I put in my mouth!  I’ve got the excercise thing down flat (6 days per week), I drink my water, I eat my vegetables….but I don’t stop eating there. 

 So it’s about time for me.  About time to make that minute by minute decision to take care of myself.  I will journal my food here and post my weekly weigh in numbers starting next Monday.  I am very excited about this new journey!

Welcome! I look forward to reading your posts.

I know all about the plateau thing. I joined WW last August and spent most of October, November and December losing and gaining the same 2 pounds. (I share some of the blame for that with the Boyfriend, who’s always encouraging me to eat things I shouldn’t. Sure, he’s not forcing me to swallow, but since I usually LOVE what he’s offering, it’s nearly impossible for me to say no.)

Now I’ve lost almost 29 pounds total, and am aiming to reach my goal of 160 by the time my brother and sister-in-law have their baby in November. (I was the fat bridesmaid in their wedding pictures, and don’t want to be the fat aunt, too!)
