a new day, a new lady

Doing it for ME this time around!

I HEART last night’s Biggest Loser!

Posted by Kristi on April 9th, 2008

Oh my goodness! I just watched it this morning and oh it made me SO happy (and of course cry, lol…I don’t know if there has been a single episode where I haven’t cried or at least teared up a bit, haha…I’m such a sap!) But honestly, two GIRLS in the final 3?! I mean, I know it happened last year as well but Bill was just a powerhouse and everyone knew he was going to win. Ali could SERIOUSLY win the Biggest Loser! A girl winner for the first time in BL history! That would just be so amazing. And she truly is an inspiration. As is Kelly! I mean, I never thought she would make it to the end in a million years! But I am so proud of her and it makes me feel kind of bad for doubting her. But she proved me wrong and I just can’t wait until next week to see the results!

With that being said, I am currently debating whether or not I am going to work out today or not. My AAC was to work out at least 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. Thus far I have worked out twice this week, each for an hour. My body is a tiny bit tired but I don’t know if I should push through the tiredness (is that a word?) and then maybe it will just jump my body into official work out mode, or if I should give it a break today and work out tomorrow and Friday? Oh yeah, even though 3 times a week at 30 minutes is my AAC, I’m totally pushing it further than that. Mainly because if I do well this week working out 4 times and my back doesn’t have problems then I am going to re-open my membership with 24 Hour Fitness and really just go for it! Well, either way I will let you know what I do.

However, I am happy to report that last night went really well. I guess I technically had 2 margaritas - one at my friend’s house before we left, and one at the restaurant - but the one at the house was small and on the rocks so I don’t think it was near the points of the restaurant one (or perhaps that’s just my silly rationalization! lol) But I did only have maybe 12 chips and only ate ONE of my skinny tacos, with a little bit of black beans and a small amount of brown rice. And I was completely full when we left the restaurant! So I’m giving myself a pat on the back for that one, I think I did really well!

OK, well either way I have errands to run today. I will check back in later to let y’all know my work out decision. And by all means if you have any thoughts on the matter, share your 2 cents…I’ll probably take it, haha. Hope everyone is havingĀ a great OP day OR in my case, a great third “day one!”

Only two margaritas (or maybe 1 and a half)? :-D Great job. I don’t think I could have been so disciplined! LOL! I didn’t work out yesterday - I was supposed to! I was a little disappointed, but in all honesty this headache came out of nowhere and I just had to lie down and I went to bed early.

As for your workout, I’m sure you will make the best decision for yourself. As for my two cents, if you’re feeling good - GO FOR IT! :-D

Great job on dinner last night!! I don’t think I could have only eaten 12 chips…maybe 12 dozen but not only 12….good for you and will power. Listen to your body…if you are feeling tired rest…or maybe just do a light walk or something…don’t ever push too hard or you will knock yourself out of the game….remember this is not a sprint it’s a marathon!!

I don’t watch much TV so I have never seen the biggest loser but I may have to check it out because I keep hearing people talking about it…even my mom mentioned it last night when I was on the phone with her….I think I may be missing out!!

WOW you really are out on a mission, aren’t you? I can not believe how much restraint you exercised by only two drinks, 12 chips, and one skinny taco! You must be so proud! I had a great 1st day one, little rocky 2nd day one, and so far great 3rd day one. Check out today’s post and let me know if you’ve ever been where I am at. Thanks!

I love your story of getting back on track over the past couple of posts :) Congrats! I’m also feeling kinda “stuck” after some time in a rut; it’s so hard isn’t it?! I watched BL last night, and I too LOVEEEE that there are two girls (although Kelli drives me freaking insane!!!)… but I don’t think Ali can win; I mean 134?! There’s not another ounce on her to lose! I just don’t think she can do it :(

    Hey Kristi,

I just want to thank you for such a supportive post you left me. It’s amazing how supportive this community is. I just wanted to let you know that it brightened my spirits when I needed it. Thanks again.

Okay, now onto you AWESOME restraint with the margaritas, chips and brown rice! YEAH!! I just got back from Dallas, and there’s one thing that’s true about Texas…everything’s bigger, including the margaritas and the bottomless chip bowl!! Really, great work. Do you feel empowered knowing that you can control yourself?

Now onto the Biggest Loser. Funny thing, I see the daughter of the green team at the gym ALL the time. It’s funny to see a real, true BL shirt right in front of me! I have to be honest, I’m disappointed in her. She really hasn’t lost all that much weight. At least not as much weight as you should if you had a trainer working with you, not to mention knowing you’re going back on national tv at a chance to win $100K! Anyway, I truly feel like all the remaining contestants are my bff! I missed last night’s episode and I haven’t had time to watch it yet, but I when I watch it and see who goes home, it’s going to upset me. I wish they could all win at this point. I really fell in love with Mark as the season went on. He’s got the NY/ NJ attitude, but he really is a good guy. Ali did such a phenominal job at home on her own, I’d be really happy to see her win the money, and Kelly is just Kelly. She’s worked very hard to maintain her position and I’d be thrilled to see her win, too! Roger is just a nice guy and he’s come SO far. I will definitely be home to see who wins next week.

Wow, I guess I had a lot to say! Most importantly, thanks again for your kind words and encouragement when I needed it the most.

Good luck with the roommate. I’ve been there and it’s a crummy situation. Start putting a big “K” on things. Maybe she’ll think before she eats it next time.

I’m sure Im too late on this…but maybe do a “mild” 30 minute walk or something..does walking help or hurt your back? I laugh when I read your margarita post up there because Im the queen of rationalization..do you ever use the activity counter? I just started using this yesterday and it will at least make your rationalizations legit!! I always have that one extra for some reason, whats up with that? ha! good luck

I SO agree about the Biggest Loser! Absolutely love that show! All of their transformations are absolutely amazing! The one that has surprised me the most is Kelli…not sure if she has it in her to win, but I think it would be kinda cool. (kinda like the underdog thing..you know?) Although Ali is my fav! I get so motivated watching that show. It makes me wonder if I’ll ever be able to (or enjoy) jogging! Right now I hate it! :)
Anyway…you are doing a amazing job Kristi! Keep it up girl!
