a new day, a new lady

Doing it for ME this time around!

Not exactly sure what to make of this number…

Posted by Kristi on April 8th, 2008

but the morning weigh in read 189.5!! Umm, a 5lb weight loss in one day? I’m not too sure about that! Unless it was as suggested and I was just SUPER retaining water, salt, bloating, all those glorious side effects. I don’t know but I will take it!

I did cardio for an hour yesterday and did SUPER healthy eating. Somehow I had 3 points left at the end of the day but I just couldn’t bring myself to eat them because I seriously wasn’t hungry!

I’m working out again today…hopefully I will be incorporating some weights to this work out. I just want to make sure to take it at a slow, healthy pace for the sake of my back. But it’s hard once I get a taste of how good exercising feels and those endorphins begin to flow, I just want to go for it full force! I KNOW I can’t do this though. So maybe I won’t do weights today. Maybe I’ll just stick with cardio, especially since it’s only my third “in a row” work out in quite some time. But yes, I AM working out again today!

However, I am also going for Mexican food tonight with one of my best friends. She and her boyfriend are getting ready to leave for Europe for three weeks this Saturday and I’m watching their cat for them, haha. So this is my “thank you” dinner. I already looked at the menu online though and I’m going to order the skinny tacos. Whole wheat tortillas, with grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, and lite cheese. Served with rice and black beans. I think I’ll only have some of the black beans though. AND I might do like Hungry Girl suggested on one of her recent Weight Watchers post and just stuff everything into ONE tortilla, saving me those extra tortilla points, even though it IS a whole wheat tortilla. We will see. My downfall is going to be the margaritas. I am a margarita girl, there is no getting around it, haha. But I’m going to try my best to limit myself to only one. The only thing about it is that we have plans to go chill in her hot tub afterwards and that’s always more fun when you are a little tipsy, lol. But I don’t want to go back to the way I was feeling after my weigh in yesterday morning. NOTHING feels as good, tastes as good, whatever…as being healthy and smaller will FEEL. So there, I solved that problem, haha.

Anyhow, I’m doing some house chores at the moment and as soon as I’m done with them I’m off the gym. I’ll post my AAC number then.

Finally, I just want to say a big THANK YOU to every one’s comments of support yesterday. I don’t know what I’d do without this community. Y’all have been a God send, I swear! So thank you. It was the support and positive commentary that I needed to completely fuel my healthy, on points, exercise filled day! I love you guys, I really do. Thank you again!

AAC: 65/195 - I had a great 65 minutes on the elliptical machine. I actually “ran” a total of 5 miles, which was my goal, so I was extremely happy about that! Now I am pretty tired so I think I’m going to lay down for a bit before my Mexican dinner tonight! I hope everyone is having a wonderful OP day or a successful “day one!”

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for such encouraging words! I see you too have a good plan for yourself! Way to go on the exercise. I wish I could be that motivated to exercise, but I’ll get there. Enjoy your skinny tacos at dinner. And I am SO jealous. Margarita girl here too! Love ‘em.

When the horse bucks ya off, you just have to get back in the saddle…Congrats on getting right back in the saddle! A positive attitude and a big dose of determination go a looong way. And, you are right, the support in this community is phenomenal!

Sounds like you are back on track…and the scale is letting you off the hook for you past weekend…so put it behind you and keep moving forward. Keep going with the workouts and before you know it you will be getting some strength training in and your back will not hurt you…just take is slow…and listen to what your body tells you. Checking back to see your activity, have a great day :)

Wow…Sounds like you had a GREAT day one!!! You must have been so excited when you saw that number on the scale! Sometimes those “liquid calories” do a number on us! Hope you had a great second day one and have fun tonight.
