Walden Farms Salad Dressings

29 01 2008

Ok, I wrote about these a while ago. But, when I wrote the post I had just bought the salad dressing but hadn’t tried them yet.

Well I have tried both the Honey Mustard and Raspberry Vinagrette. They are ZERO Calories, ZERO Fat!  I really like them. They are pretty good. But what do you expect for a 2 tbsp serving size and zero points, not but really they are good.  I am not too picky about my dressing, and I don’t use very much so its great for me. I would rather spend 2 points on cheese, and then use this dressing for 0 Points.  They also make a great 0 point salad if you only use veggies, great for those days when you run out of points.

I can find them at my normal grocery store (small local chain) in the salad dressing isle, so you should be able to find them anywhere.

Has anyone else tried them? What do you think?

I heart Popcorn

2 01 2008

I really do love popcorn :)  Its one of those snacks that I always feel like I am cheating when I eat it. I can eat lots of it for very few points.

Well Roni, just blogged about this new Popcorn from Orville Redenbacher that looks fabulous. It has zero artificial colors, flavors or preservatives…it tastes great naturally! And it comes in 3 flavors: Simply Salted, Buttery Garlic and Buttery Salt & Cracked Pepper (and yes there is a low fat version!) I can’t wait to get some at the grocery store.

 Yummo!

Zero Point Salad Dressing

15 11 2007

I have so many things I want to blog about today :)  And I have WI this morning, which I am not expecing a loss, and haven’t totally decided whether I will use the no-WI-Pass or not…we’ll see.

Anywho….I was at the store last night and saw these…Zero calorie, Zero fat,  zero point salad dressings for 2 tbsp.  I’m not sure what is in them, and haven’t tried it yet, but I got the Honey Mustard variety. I can’t wait to try it.

Anyone out there had these? Am I all excited for nothing? Which flavor is your favorite?

Here’s a pic!

Dannon Yo Cream…. Oh so Delish

4 09 2007

yo-cream.jpg

I Found it, I found it, I found it. I finally found frozen yogurt in my town.  It’s called YoCream, and its by Dannon.  Granted its at a gas station downtown, but still its yogurt, and its wonderful. They only have chocolate and vanilla where I live, but I sooooo love it. I haven’t had frozen yogurt in so long because there is NO other place in town you can get it.  It has ZERO fat, and about 100 calories per half cup.  So I figure my small swirl cup has about 3 points in it.

You can find the nutritional info here:  http://www.yocream.com/nutritionals.php

I just had to share!  I’ve had it twice since I “discovered” it last Friday.  Both times I went with friends who thought I was absolutely bonkers because I was in heaven while eating it. There’s just something about soft serve frozen yogurt that you can’t replicate.

Has anybody else ran into this stuff? What flavors are your favorite?

Mrs Freshleys Snacks….Anybody else tried them?

I just found these snacks at Walmart and decided to give them a try. I tried both the Cream Filled Oatmeal Cookies (1 point each)

 oatmealcremecookie.gif

And the Buddy Bars (below) which are 2 points.

They were both uber delish, and I will definately be buying them again. Anybody else tried other varieties and have any comments on them?

Shirataki Noodles

29 08 2007

Ok… Well I finally tried the Shirataki noodles….I didn’t like them. There was something about the texture of them that I just couldn’t stomach. I had been warned about their odor, and rinsed them and then boiled for a few minutes, but I just couldn’t handle their texture. I couldn’t even finish my dinner.

I think they are a great idea, and I am glad I tried them. I think everyone should give them a try because their taste was great, and its such an excellent alternative to noodles, their Nutritional Info is amazing… I just couldn’t hack it.

Fast Food Southwest salads showdown & Busy Weekend

6 08 2007

Good Morning Everyone, Well I am recouperated from my “ick” on Friday, and my super busy weekend and ready to go for yet another work week :)

I did pretty good on the eating front. Had a hamburger and fries on Friday night, Ihadn’t eaten hardly anything at all that day and boy was the burger and fries tasty. I don’t even remember the last time I had any fast food other than a salad. Oh, Saturday I tried McDonalds southwest Chicken Salad, and Sunday I tried Jack In the box’s southwest chicken salad.

I think overall the salads were very comparable. I liked the dressing of McDonalds better, and it was healthier. But I liked how Jack in the box put the chicken in a separate container so that I could put it on my salad myself. In both cases I only used about 1/3 - 1/2 of the packet of dressing and about half of the “corn twigs” or whatever they are called.

So the overall winner, IMO, was McDonalds :0  I’ll definately be having that salad again!

New Food Finds!

30 07 2007

Ok, these probably aren’t new, but they are new to me and I haven’t posted my new favorite food finds in a while, so I thought I would get them down on paper.  I finally found the alternative bagel at our Wal-Mart, it was quite tasty and satisfying for 1 point!

So far i’ve only tried the sweet wheat, but looking forward to trying the others

My other current favorite new food is the Dulce de Leche pudding cup for 1 point also.  I can’t find an image, but its incredible if you can find it.  I love caramel and vanilla, and this is almost as good as a ice cream sundae for me.  DBF thinks it tastes funny, but I’m OK with that because I know he won’t eat mine :)

Pudding Snacks

Just thought I would share!
