Hungry Days!

 This is how I feel today…hungry hungry hungry!

I’m sure we all have those hungry days, when no matter what you seem to eat you’re still hungry! 

Well today is one of those days for me. 

I don’t know what everyone elses trick is, but i’ve just been trying to drink lots of water and stay occupied with other things (like reading everybodys blogs :)

A co-worker just told me that chocolate is an appetite suppresant, don’t know if she was right, but I am tempted to hunt down a hershey kiss and find out!

I’ll let you know later if it worked, and what else I ate before the day is over, because at this rate I could eat the house. I have 13.5 points left (its 3:45pm here), and I will definately use them all!

That’s the menu from yesterday. All of the leftover pizza is now gone. Since last Friday I had a total of 6 slices.

WOW, that’s a lot of pizza.

On the positive note, Pizza is my favorite food, so I feel I have satisfied the craving for quite a while now. Also, before I started WW’ers, I would have consumed these 6 slices over the course of 2 meals, not 4 days. So, I think that is a great show of how WW is teaching me to eat healthier, and watch my portion sizes.



New Food Finds!

Ok, these probably aren’t new, but they are new to me and I haven’t posted my new favorite food finds in a while, so I thought I would get them down on paper.  I finally found the alternative bagel at our Wal-Mart, it was quite tasty and satisfying for 1 point!

So far i’ve only tried the sweet wheat, but looking forward to trying the others

My other current favorite new food is the Dulce de Leche pudding cup for 1 point also.  I can’t find an image, but its incredible if you can find it.  I love caramel and vanilla, and this is almost as good as a ice cream sundae for me.  DBF thinks it tastes funny, but I’m OK with that because I know he won’t eat mine :)

Football Frustration!

I am a huge Chicago Bears football fan, and this year they are playing the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle (only a 5 hour drive for me). I have never been to a NFL Game and have been soooo excited. So I went online this morning to get 5 tickets for me and our friends. I was online right when they went on sale and I still didn’t get any tickets. I am so frustrated. Now I am on a quest to find the tickets, I WILL go to the game somehow. I was so looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend trip and so excited to see the game (in November, I know quite a ways off, but still…).  I’m sure tickets will come up somehow, but I’m still stressed about it. So I am a little bummed this morning. I’ll get over it though.  I know I will go to the game, even if I have to buy “scalped” tickets at the door.

On the eating front I did pretty well yesterday, not much food, you can see we STILL have leftover pizza from Friday that I keep munching on.  It will be gone soon.

I finally posted pics on a new page called “progession pics”.  I posted some “before” pics, and then my first set of progressive pics taken today, after 5 weeks on WW, and a total of 11.6 pounds lost. 

I had a hard time deciding if I should post pics or not. But after a lot of thought I think it’ll be good to see the progression, and makes my weight loss story that much more complete.



Winning the battle!

I feel great today. Like I am winning the battle of teaching myself and my body portion control and healthy choices. I finally ventured out to my favorite Chinese restaurant last night. I hadn’t been there since I started WW 6 weeks ago. I did fairly well. I had 15 points going into dinner. I had 2 crab rangoons (fried wonton filled w/ crab & cream cheese), and one piece of my favorite chicken dish (general tso’s). Other than that I had 1 cup of egg drop soup, about 1/2 C White rice, and then steamed chinese vegetables with beef.  So I think I came really close to 15 points by my estimates.  Then this morning we went to a really nice restaurant for breakfast w/ DBF’s family. I asked for an english muffin, and a fruit bowl. It was soooo good. I didn’t even miss the bacon and pancakes, and I only ate until I was full while everyone else ate until they could barely breathe.  Here’s yesterdays menu.

Ok, not quite sure what is going on with me. Wednesday I had 8.5 points left over because I didn’t feel like eating. Then WI Th morning, only a .2 loss, and then Thursday I had 7 points leftover because I didn’t feel like eating either.  Then yesterday, all “plans” for my day got shot and I went 10 points over, which is rare for me, but OK since I had the flex. Here are the menus.

Then got invited to a work BBQ that was catered, and made OK choices there. Then after work we had cement poured and I had to feed all the guys we had helping us and I ate 2 pieces of pizza. Had to use 10 flex, but that was OK.

Ok, I think I have developed my Barbie and am ready to take the Barbie Oath.

I promise to uphold the Barbie ways which include whining when you feel like it, being bitchy on cue and knowing that NO MATTER WHAT or WHO (yeah even if she is a rich, plastic surgery induced, exercise obsessed, bubble head) comes across your path - that you are Barbie…..beautiful and worthy!!! Size 6 or 60, Porsche or Pinto, flat belly and good boobs or pannus and dried prunes - we are AWESOME!!

Techno Traveling Barbie is all about being planned, organized, in-control, and seeing new adventures. She never leaves home without the laptop, cell phone, and PDA.  She is always connected, whether on the beach in Mexico, or sightseeing in Russia. She can handle anything that is thrown at her with grace and ease.

What are you drinking? 

A Diet Coke Big Gulp… 

Did you drink your Water today? 

No, None actually… 

Then why are you drinking Diet Coke? 

Because it sounded good, no other reason. 

What were two of the goals we set this morning? 

Watch sodium consumption and drink water. 

You will not punish yourself by giving up, giving in or doing anything differently than you have the past 5 weeks because of one measly WI loss of .2 pounds. Get back on track, KOKO and prove what you can lose next week. 

Enough said.  Conversation I am currently having with myself. The good side won, I just threw the cup of diet coke away, I probably drank 20 oz of it.
