Second straight day OP

The title of this post says it all, I think. And it’s a great accomplishment for me, I must say. I’ve been having a heck of a time lately.

Today I had 27 1/2 of my 28 Points, and worked out for an hour and 15 minutes. OK, I was only at the gym for 45 minutes, but in the afternoon, my Big Brothers/Big Sisters mentoring group walked from the school to Sonic (a good several blocks, thank you very much.) That added another 30 minutes to my workout time. I’m golden for today.

Even better? I didn’t order anything bad for me at Sonic. I just had a giant diet Dr. Pepper with their sugar-free cherry syrup in it. (Some people might argue that soda, even diet soda is bad, but I haven’t yet completely given it up. I go through phases. Some weeks I drink a lot; others I rarely have any.)

Last night I promised  a link to the column I wrote for today’s food page, all about making choices. Here it is: http://www.azdailysun.com/articles/2008/04/09/news/arts_and_living/adventures/20080409_cooking_1.txt

I often write about the weight-loss battle, and sometimes I do one of these “I need  new motivation” columns. I’m pleased to report that so far since writing this one, I’ve made  healthy choices for 14 of my 16 eating opportunities … that’s 87 percent! Woo-hoo!

AAC: 2.5/3 (and I’m planning to try a new class at the gym in the morning to put me over the top.)

  1. Great Job! You are doing good! Two days fully OP is a big deal. It is so hard to do.

  2. Great job on the exercise!! I haven’t been to a sonic is years…I don’t know that I could behave if I found one :) It really is about the choices we make and it does look like you are taking the time to make good ones…congrats!

  3. Thanks! I was tempted to say that since I walked all the way there, a small order of tater tots wouldn’t hurt, but I refrained!
