A mixed day
Today was both good and bad. I got up and went to the gym, which was good. Spent 67 minutes total working out — 25 on the elliptical, 22 on the treadmill and 20 on weights, which was great. (Even better, the elliptical and treadmill said I burned a total of about 450 calories combined.)
The bad? I worked out as hard as I did in preparation for a going-away lunch for one of our co-workers. We went to … drumroll, please … and Indian/Nepalese buffet. I suppose I could have done worse. I only went through the entree line twice, and neither time was the plate so piled up with food that I couldn’t see some of the bottom of it. Of course, I did go up to the dessert line twice, too … ended up eating some melon, mango pudding and FOUR of those little syrup-soaked cheese ball things. (That was excessive, I’ll admit. But the first two were so darn tasty that I had to go back for two more.)
Here’s another not-so-great thing: I tried on a pair of capri pants that have been hanging out in my drawer, figuring that since they’re a size 16, they should fit again. I totally forgot that Gap pants run small. My size 14 Old Navy jeans now fit without giving me a muffin top … but the size 16 Gap pants I can barely button and zip, and they leave me with a major muffin top. Had to wear a different pair of pants instead.
… Although, had I left them on, maybe I wouldn’t have eaten so much at the lunch buffet. It’s a thought I’ll try to remember for next time! ![]()
