February blahs

I’m sure that I am not the only one feeling the february blahs.  This month always saps me.  I am glad that it is the shortest month and that each day the sun is out a little longer.  If only it would stop snowing already, we have had at least 8 feet this year which is not normal and more on the way from Texas this weekend.

I have let all tracking points and exercise slide in the last two weeks.  Why do I do this to myself after I start seeing success?  On the positive note, I didn’t gain any weight and lost another pound.

I went out last week and bought myself some much needed clothing.  The normal sizes were too big which was a nice surprise.  I am still on the plus side (14) and it would be really nice to finally be able to shop in “normal’ stores again. I really wish the plus sizes were labelled the same way as the normal sizes because I think that a plus size 14 is really a normal 18.

I am off on a holiday to see the sun and sand in the Bahamas with my husband and toddler.  I won’t be blogging until March (little Internet access).  I look forward to reading about everyone’s progress when I get back.



A few non weight successes

I’ve noticed a few non weight successes that I just haven’t had a chance to record until now.

1) I am wearing my wedding rings. They were feeling too tight and I had stopped wearing them.

2) I am wearing a pair of jeans that didn’t fit since last spring.

3) I am riding my horse better and making strides towards showing him this summer. Maybe it is increased confidence or increased flexibility and endurance.

I didn’t realize chocolate chips had so many calories - 80 for a tbsp??? I use to eat a whole bag on a binge. Ate too many marshmellows as well. I should have just bought a chocolate bar instead of the ingredients required for smores. Ugh!

Seeing a pattern here

School is interfering with my exercise and eating patterns. A typical week, I exercise and watch what I eat when I am at home (as long as there isn’t a major assignment due). Then I go to school for a few days, forget to eat, stay up late, feel exhausted, avoid exercise, binge on something…. I need to plan better and go to bed on time on those days. I’m not going to school this week so I can “practice” and to prepare for a better balance next week. On the plus side, I just handed in a big assignment. One less thing on my plate. Back to writing my 40 page paper tomorrow (ugh!).

Back to patterns.  I didn’t lose weight last week, which wasn’t a suprise due to the stress of not knowing how to do my assignment combined with PMS.  It seems every few weeks I don’t lose anything but the following week I lose weight after I recommit myself.
