Exercise Attitude

20 03 2008

I think I found my personal motivator. When I’m exercising I eat healthier. When I stop exercising I stop caring about what I eat. So it seems for me that if I feel I’m headed off course, I need to amp up the workouts. I guess there’s just something about not wanting to ruin my workout with a cheeseburger and fries!

Yesterday after work I had some time to really check things out our local Fresh Market. It’s kind of a whole foods/ gourmet foods type of grocery. I enjoyed picking up a few items that I can’t find in the regular supermarket like Whole Wheat Flour. Seems weird that I’ve had a tough time finding it, but I’m glad I did. There are a few recipes I’ve been waiting to try. I love finding new food things to keep my menu exciting!

Amen! When I’m working out, I am definitely more motivated to make better food choices. I even woke up early (yuck) to workout this morning because I didn’t have any other time in my day to do it. I feel so much better for it, though.

I know EXACTLY what you mean! And it’s funny, even one of my work out videos talks about that - you’ve already made one really healthy decision on the day so chances are you are going to continue on with that healthy pattern. Great psychological trick there! lol…keep up the good work!

I feel the exact same way as you! When I exercise, my eating stays “in check”. And even more so on the weekends! As long as I exercise right away in the morning on weekends, I tend to make great choices with food all day! Because we all know there are a million and one excuses NOT to exercise on weekends! Laundry, shopping, errands, house cleaning…etc.! Keep up the exercising and everything else will fall in place! And DON’T forget how far you’ve come! You’re an inspiration to many of us!

It is so true that exercising makes you make better choices. My problem is I exercise at night after the kids are in bed. Usually I do it to help burn off all the extra calories I ate that day. I really need to start doing it in the morning so it will help me make better choices and hopefully help me lose weight. Thanks for the insight.
