I’m Joining the “Jan. Junk-Free Challenge!”
14 01 2008Danielle has a Jan. Junk-Free Challenge in progress. I so desperately need this right now. Since Christmas I think I need something sweet every-night, and I don’t mean like an apple or banana. We’re talking chocolate, ice cream, or candy. During the challenge, I’m still going to allow myself 1 WW ice cream treat if my points allow. Come on, join in!
So Friday was fabulous. It was the first day I stayed within my daily points in a long time. Friday night I stayed with my parents and went to a movie with my mom. We saw “Enchanted!” It was great! Saturday morning we got in a great walk in her neighborhood with killer hills (my hip flexors were killing me for a day or two). I ate about 7 points between breakfast, lunch and a snack. That night my MIL treated us to a super swanky dinner out (and put us up in a casino for the night). I have absolutely no idea how many points I ate (pork shank with pomegranate puree, all over veggies-YUM YUM YUM), but I had 14 to use. I ate the entree with moderation, maybe 1/3 of what was served. Surely I went over with the apple torte and ice cream (the idea was to share with the others at the table, but I managed to polish it off in the end, 2/3). It was damn well worth it though…plus I had worked my butt off that morning. So in my eyes, Saturday was also a success. Sunday was less than superb. MIL treated us again to a breakfast buffet at the casino. It was yuck, except for the waffle my husband ordered and proceeded to smother in tons of butter and syrup. He was full before he got to it, and I was still hungry because the stuff I got wasn’t fit to eat. X+Y= I ate most of the butter and syrup laden waffle. I’ve been trying to get my husband to try the nacho/salsa version of Combos, so of course, he spotted some and had to buy them. Ends up he didn’t like them, so who ate them? Me, again. We stopped by my folks to pick up the mutt and they had a block of sharp cheddar and crackers out from lunch. I haven’t had block cheese in eons. Yep, ate about 5 slices of that. I thought surely I’d be good for dinner to make up for the rest of the day’s poor choices. WH ordered pizza. Who ate it? Yep, that would be me again. And the cinnamon stick/bread with icing and Hershey’s kisses. *sigh* But it’s all good. I’m back on track and today is looking great. I’ve already gotten through lunch, worked out at the YMCA and did an ab class (I’m gonna be hurtin’) and upper body circuit. Now if I can just manage dinner and keeping the kitchen closed afterwards…
Here’s my meal plan for today (I find it easier to post dinner. It helps me stick to it!) I’ll make corrections tomorrow if necessary, but hopefully there won’t be any!
