Hmmmm……… Friday???? already !!!!

So, I’m getting better, still runny nosed but my cough is just about gone :) !!!! yipee ……. I see a run in the next day or so !!!! I will take today off b/c I don’t want to push it. I work in a hospital, I hardly ever get sick, but when I do man it just knocks me down, its usually some gnarly bug :P, and I only go to the doctor if I have a fever for a few days or I’m bleeding to death :) !!! Don’t get me wrong I know a bunch of great Dr’s but my body should be able to fight most bugs without help, the less antibiotics and antivirals  I put in my body the better (it may take me longer to fight illness’ on my own but, when I really need those strong meds they’ll work better) .

My Sis, her Hubby and my nephew are going to come visit this weekend. I’m kinda excited to see them I haven’t seen them since Dec. We should have a nice weekend, weather should be great here at the beach, maybe we’ll go for a bike ride or something. I went to the store yesterday and stocked up on good options for us to eat, I will hit the strawberry stand today, and Saturday go to the local farmers market :) . They will want to hit the famous clam chowder restraunt that should be ok, just use some FP’s to eat some of that awesome chowder :) . Well I will be cleaning up my house today and doing, laundry before they get here. So I better get to work. Have a great weekend everyone :) !!!



8 days with no running !!!! arghhhhh

This is sad…… I love running so when I got sick last week took a few days off hoping I would get better. Well here it is 8 days since my last run and I’ve still got chest congestion and a somewhat productive cough (TMI).  I was sick, still am sick so wanting to run today, fully knowing I shouldn’t (I can’t breath very well still). I have spent the morning researching the vast web for info on running while sick. The consensus is I shouldn’t if I have a prod cough and chest congestion. :( I can run through the head cold but not the chest stuff…………. totally bummed. So I will take another day off. I am getting better just not as quick as I want to ! My legs were starting to work for me and trusting my body that I could go the distance I was never about speed I’ve always been slow. So now I fear I will have taken not just one step back but many steps in my training. I had originally wanted to run in a half marathon in Oct the course is pretty easy but I won’t make it this year.

On another note I didn’t weigh yesterday so this morning I’m down 0.5 lbs, I’m glad it was expected to be small. I was sick all week and I made myself eat and drink but just couldn’t bring myself to eat all the veggies and fruits I’m used to. Stayed on track counting points but not eating as healthy as I would have liked. I think I’ll be able to go to the store today and get some veggies :) . I miss those things, I still can’t taste anything but I’m wanting my veggies and fruits back.  Have a good day everyone !!! Some how i only managed to eat 16 pts yestrday? I never do that, I’m on some new meds maye they curved my appetite?

Still sick !!!!! This Sucks!!!!

So yes its true, I’m still sick. Not just a lil cold but the full blown sinus’s being stupid and bronchitis !!! What the F*&@ !!! I can’t shake it. I’ve been runny nosed, coughing, sore throat, chest hurts (from coughing) for 5 full days now. GRRRRR I’m so mad !!!

I had my great 5mi run last weds  morn, it started weds nite and been going strong ever since. I’ve pretty much tak’n a full drug store of meds to try to suppress my cough, sore throat and runny nose. So I haven’t had much to blog about, been kick’n it on my couch missing out on life the last 5 days and who knows how many more days.

No running or any activity from me in the last 5days…… grrrrrrr…… that sentence just pisses me off.  Been on points still tracking, but not eating  to many fruits and veggies, just not wanting to, I want those comfort foods, soups, casseroles etc ( I can’t really taste much either my buds are off right now). Besides haven’t been to the store to buy fruits and veggies, I forced the last banana down yesterday. On that note havn’t left the house in 4 days. I’m also bummed I missed my DH’s gokart race on sat, granted it is a bunch of grown men in tiny lil cars going in circles around a track. But is a blast to watch, and be a apart of.

So my plan is to stay on points :) I have some frozen veggies and fruit maybe I can figure out how to work those in my meals today. If my stupid nose would dry up and I could stop coughing I could leave the house and go to the store real quick……… I’m going to post my tracker and have a good day everyone :) !!!

I can’t belive it…… I’m sick !!!

After doing that awesome run yesterday and planning out what to do for today I wake up with a sore throat and a cough that’s just awful !!! I didn’t see it coming. So I medicined up and headed out. I had errands to run today did those and got hungry while I was out. I must be sick cuz I was totally unprepared for being away from my house no H2O (I always have that and snacks). So I found myself in the McDonalds drive thru…………… And instead of getting the santa fe chicken salad I opted for the happy meal with a cheeseburger and fries ( 2 bad decisions) . Feeling guilty about eating the whole thing I was staring at the bag trying to figure out if I was going to throw it all away or come up with a better choice? So I decided to tear the burger in half, take half the fries out and drink the lil’ diet coke. I walked away only eating 6 pts for my poor planning instead of 12pts. :) Not feeling to good today I wasn’t really that hungry after all, the 1/2 method was plenty of food. I won’t be doing any activity today just don’t feel up to it, I’m going to go lie on the couch now and watch a movie or maybe even take a nap. Let my body try to get better. Yesterday I finished on points no using AP or WPA :)

Morning WI  179.5 !!!! Holy Crap I actually lost and lost pretty big :) . Can you see me dancing, cuz I am, I’m dancing all over the place !!! Back into the 170’s woo hoo!!! I haven’t been here in 6 mos, the lowest I ever got was 172.6 I will get there again and go beyond I can feel it. I will make it to the 160’s !!! :) My body is starting to change again, running is great for the legs and upper body. Now that core…… I have to do something about my core, situp’s :P hmmm I hate them. But not much else to strengthen it I could probably run further too….. if i would just do it, I notice towards mi 4 my posture and body alignment start to go. My core I know would help with that. Today I will put in some mileage and maybe go pick up some veggies I’m almost out of them. For breakfast I treated myself with multigrain pancakes and strawberries it was delicious!  I found another pair of running tennis shoes on ebay, I love asics they seem to work the best for me, the nimbus style I like was last years and of course the new style is already out.  So have been looking hard to get one more pair before I have to change styles . So overall a good day so far although its just begun :) .

Update: ran 5 mi’s today set a personal record of 11.21 min/mi :) stopped by farmers market picked up squash, tomato, and onion.

My plans  to work out after work ……. didn’t really work out.  I came home and am just tired the DH and I were a bit hungry and just skipped activity tonite, and went straight to make’n dinner. I’m on points, WI is in the morning, and I feel confidant that I will have a loss. Work was busy made for a quick first 8 hrs but the last 4hrs of the day seemed to drag on but its over and I’m off the next 2days and will get some good AP’s in to start my week. Hopefully this weekend I can talk the DH into participating with me after work 1 or 2 days in getting some AP’s. Quick post enjoy your evening

Busy,Busy, Busy….. AAC 80/520

I’ve been a busy girl the last couple of days…… I did manage to run in the cold on Sat and actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Sunday was a great day the DH and I went for a bike ride , stopped and had breakfast and rode back, cleaned out the garage made a run to the dump etc….

Today went back to work couldn’t stay away from those sweets, cake, candy etc. Counted all of the points up and actually walked away with only using 30 pts today. I’m  still on track, I have 1 more day left WI is weds and I need to make tomorrow count. I want to see a loss. I have 19 WPA’s left for the week  and I hope I can get away without using them. We’ll see :) ………. Short post today gettign ready for bed have to get up early for work……. I’ll update tomorrow evening I hope to get a run in tomorrow if my body will let me after work.  Have a good evening I’ll check back later :)

Today it is cold in the beautiful CA central coast. It’s freez’n to me……. its approx 49 deg outside right now…. its almost 9am it should be 70 !!!!! Despite the cold day I will be putting in at least a 5k. I’m not sure how the body will take the cold I’ve been running in 70 or 80 deg weather so we’ll see what this girl has in her.

I haven’t posted in a few days been busy with work. Yesterday was a very stressful day I caught myself picking up a cookie and taking a bite. So I threw it away, minus the bite. Before I would have gone thru 3 or 4 cookies before stopping.

I’ve figured out a plan that seems to be working for me. On the days I work I don’t get any AP’s, I’m to tired when I get home to do anything but make dinner. It seems to be ok I stay on points all day and maybe have to dip into my weekly point allowance for 1 or 2 pts to get thru dinner.  I’m ok with that. On my days off I bust ass toget activity in , stay within my 25 pts,  if I feel like using my 4 AP’s that’s ok ……. I did bust my ass for those . But I do not dip into my wpa’s on my days off. It’s working at least for now, I feel skinnier !!!! I jumped on the scale b/c TOM’s been gone for 2days and I was curious. It read 181.5 now if thats true I’m so excited, we’ll see if it sticks WI is not till next weds. I’ve already gone thru all those delicious veggies and fruits from last weds, today I will hit the local farmers market again for some more, and I need to stop by Trader Joe’s for some things.

I will continue to post my menu I think its helping me, and I will update my AAC later today. Everyone have a great Saturday I’ll check in later :)

Got up this morning and got on the scale………183.0 so down 1 lb. I would have liked to seen more since I’ve been working so hard. It is the last day for TOM and maybe just maybe he’s still hanging on to a lb of H2O weight, and maybe I’ve been working so hard my muscles are building up and evenly canceling out the weight loss lbs ? Muscle weighs more than fat …… I’ll just keep telling myself that and maybe I’ll beat those scale blues today.

I caught the last 5 mins of BL last night and very happy to see Ali win she deserves it, she looks totally awesome. I don’t care to watch reality tv to much , my work is enough reality for me, I like to drift off into a sitcom or drama. Plus last night was the begining of the season for Deadliest Catch and the DH and I enjoy watching adventure shows like that.

I find my inspiration to continue this journey from reading everyone elses experiences , and also in all those magazines out there. I am a health and fitness magazine freak!!! I subscribe to Runners World , Shape and Self. I also like to pick up occasionally Womens Health and Fitness RX. I tell you this because in one of the articles in my April 08′ Womens Health talks about how fit women who are overweight or obese are still better off than those SKINNY COUCH POTATOES. We all need to move it’s better for our Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, and helps strengthen our hearts which in turn usually means we can lengthen our lifespans. So that skinny chick might look good but if she can’t get off her couch and be active. I will prevail in the long run , I may not be as skinny but I will enjoy life, enjoy being healthier, and love being active.

Have alot to update  AAC from Sunday ran 5.6 mi’s :) woohoo, them legs are back!!! so AAC 65/370. Sunday was a great day the DH and I went for a jog …..well I jogged and he rode his bike :) But we had a great time. I don’t know if TOM affects anyone else like this but besides having major body issues, I lose my equilibrium I’m so clumsy when TOM is coming!!! So I fell…… In front of everyone . Before I even started running! I was in the parking lot putting on my armband for my ipod and getting ready to get on the trail, and TIMBER, SHE’S GOIN DOWN!!!! Who knew walking could be so difficult sometimes :). Scraped and bruised the knee but still bucked up and ran the mi’s. The thing that was hurt the most was the ego :) .  Eating wise tried to make good choices went over and dipped in to WPA’s which is fine.

Monday no activity I went to work took great food and ended up on points and just having to use 2 WPA’s last night. So yesterday was an off day for activity and ended up using a total of 28 pts. Work went well was a busy morning but slowed down by the afternoon.

So today I have to go shopping for food and fresh stuff, I have nothing left and we all know what happens when we run out of the good choices!! especially since TOM is here. Tomorrow is my weigh day….. I’m kinda anxious I was really Diligent about writing down my points and getting activity in where I could, and if I’m still at a plateau I will be bummed :(  . It’s already 9am and I haven’t eaten yet….. just finished my coffee and am heading to the cabinet to get my cereal and banana. I think my knee might be able to get 3 mi’s in today and maybe a hike or a bike ride not sure yet what I’m going to do for activity. It’s nice outside going to be in the 70’s today a lil ocean breeze right now :) . I want to start trying to get sit ups in but ……..I HATE THEM !!!  so we’ll see if I can motivate myself to get a few of those in.

I’m back so I decided to do a short run 5k today and short hike got a total 80 min’s in. :) I’ve got 10pts left for dinner and 12 WPA’s left for the week. Tomorrow starts over a new week with my weigh in,  I made it …….  whew on points  :)
