Should they match?

Category: JOURNAL

Front of HouseToday will be a much better day then yesterday, I already feel much better than I did yesterday. I called Menards (which is 1.5 hrs away) and ordered the doors for my house. They are instock items so I have to go pick them up tomorrow after work. I’m so excited!! I am getting full glass screen door and a “pretty” storm door for the front. (which looks like this) PRETTY door and the side door is going to be pretty basic door. I have not decided which type of screen door I want on the side yet? Should they match? Should they both be the same screen door?

I really like the color of the door… would I be able to do that? is the door supposed to match the trim on house? or does it really matter? The screen door color is tanstone so I need to figure out what color to paint the door(s). one again. should both doors be painted the same color.

I don’t think they have to be the same color, but I think it’d look nice - since it looks like you can clearly see both doors from that last angle. Other than that, I think it’s your call. White would work since it’ll match the windows and siding and I can’t tell what color your shutters are - that could work too. But I’m no expert!

I dont know anything about designing houses (outside of Sims, anyway!), but I love that door!

I was an interior decorator…rule of thumb for doors (Something I had to learn) If your trim is white, light brown, you can use any color for the doors. Warm reds are best for front doors….it is more welcoming to guest. If your trim is a dark brown or any other color you should match. If the front and side door are visuable to the street…you should match screens and colors of doors. If your side door is in your kitchen, buy a door that has four window pain glass. Then hang a curtain that matches the rest of your kitchen curtains. The inside of the door should match the rest of the room. I hope that helps you.
