The Plan

We’re doing Weight Watchers on our own.  My mom started the diet, and it worked for her.   We got on board soon after.  My mom is still going as well.  We started January of last year and did really well until August.  In August, I switched schools.  I love my new school, but with teaching a new grade level, it’s been a lot of work.  I taught 7th and 9th last year, and now I’m teaching 8th.  Our school is great, but it’s been a lot of pressure.  I switched from private to public as well, which means more students. 

Basically, after school got going, I ended up at the Mexican food restaurant quite a bit because of stress.  I maintained my loss of about fifty pounds fairly well even with frequent cheating.  Then Christmas hit, and by the end of all this, I had put back on about 8 pounds.  Matt hit maintenance about August, but he had some trouble with that, and I was a bad influence!  He is back on the plan and should hit maintenance again soon.  I’ll be on the weight loss track for much longer.  I’m hoping to lose at least 30 more by summer for our beach vacation.

We both weigh daily at home and try to eat at home as much as possible.  We are also trying to make it be something we can live with.  Both of us have always enjoyed eating together, so we don’t want to make ourselves miserable, so we just try to do what works for us.  I am working on being less stressed at work.  I love my job, but I am quite the perfectionist, and sometimes I just need to let things go. 

Update:  I’ve hit a stopping place, so I’m experimenting with the Wendie Plan.  We’ll see!
