So I need to check out the new blog community and transfer my stuff over there, but I just don’t have the energy.  I’ve been off plan for I’m not even sure how long.  It all started with a night out with my fellow teachers to the Mexican restaurant.   After that, it just kept going.  I’m on my first day back on track, so hopefully I’ll keep it up.

List of Fun Things

Since I actually haven’t had a life since August, I want to make sure I remember all the fun things that I want to do over the summer.  Hopefully the list will also keep us from turning to our favorite hobby, eating unhealthy food.

buy small pool/spend time playing in the water with dog

Saturday

Well it’s been awhile.  Last weekend, I had a yardathon.  We were in the yard from 9am to about 8pm on Saturday, and then a little while in the afternoon on Sunday.  We made a fairly big flowerbed in our backyard, and it looks awesome.  Unforunately, this led us to some not so good food choices, but hopefully all the exercise from working in the yard balanced it out.  I came down with some type of stomach virus on Tuesday.  It was awful because I got sick at school.  I had to puke out in the hallway and come back in to yell at my class because it was my bad class.  I finally got to go home early.  The only things I felt like eating Tuesday and Wednesday were bad foods, so I was a little off track.  I don’t think it hurt me because of all the time I spent puking.  On Friday, we went to our favorite Italian restaurant.  After our crazy week and the fact that we were worker bees last weekend, I really felt we needed some couple time.  We ate too much, but we didn’t eat as much as when we normally go there.  We got an appetizer and split an entree plate.  Today will be a start over day.  I think I’m up about two pounds.  I’m just going to try to do the best that I can and really gear up for when school is out.

I meant to walk, but I fell asleep on the couch instead.  I’m still grading essays, so that’s wearing me out.  I made new seating charts for my class, and it worked out well.  My last class, which is normally my worst, was very pleasant.  Sometimes you just have to shake them up.  I also called two students’ parents, and both were very supportive.  I think I’m going to have an easy rest of the year with them.  We’re doing persuasive essays, so we spent a lot of time today debating issues, and it was very interesting.  It’s good to see them really thinking.  I’m trying to teach them to think how someone who disagrees them will think, so that they can argue better.  A few really understood the concept.  I got to play devil’s advocate, and some didn’t understand that it’s just a role to play not how I actually feel.  It’s odd sometimes what they can’t understand.  We’re really having to rush as we’re running out of time. 

I’ve still got some points left which is good since I’ll be up for awhile with these essays.  I’m going to take a bath and get to work.  I’ll be glad when this week is over!

Update- Still NOT done with essays!  I am so frustrated.  Sometimes I don’t understand how I’m supposed to do all that is expected and how I’m supposed to do what my students truly NEED when I have 86 of them.  86 essays!  Sorry for the rant; I’m just tired.  It’s 1:00 AM, and I get to go to work in 7 hours.  I truly love my job, but I do wish there was less of my job to deal with!

Monday

okay, really busy day..still managed to cram in a 40 minute walk.  I’m going to try to walk everyday no matter how busy I am.  I thought it would be a chore today, but surprisingly I really enjoyed it and only came in when I did because the husband was tired.  I do have tons of work that I need to get started on.  This week is going to be awful because I have essays to grade, progress reports go out at the end of the week, and these stupid questions that we have to write are due.  Here’s to many sleepless nights!

I defintelely lost one maybe two pounds.  It kept flip flopping around, but it said the one pound loss everytime.  Normally even when I’ve worked out very hard, I haven’t been sore.  While I don’t enjoy being overly sore, I think a tiny bit is good for you.  I am at the right amount currently, so I know I’ve had a good workout.  We just walked for thiry minutes today because it was cold.  Hopefully during the week, I can keep up with the walking.  I’ve got to check, but I think I may be done with morning duty for the year, and that will make my weeks go by so well. 

 We walked for thirty minutes, and I’m still sore from my hour long walks on Friday and Saturday.  I’m hoping to keep going during the week. 

 Update- My dinner was delicious and healthy!  I cooked the chicken in a bit of light butter, lemon juice, pepper, and garlic salt.  The sweet potatoes were excellent.  The green bean casserole could have used some cheese and more onion crunchies, but I was trying to eat light.  I’m going to take the other half for lunch tomorrow since the husband won’t eat it.  I may make hashbrown casserole next time with the meal, and that will be something the husband will enjoy.  Recipes are around posted around Easter if you want to look back and try them.  I lightened up the sweet potatoes from my previous recipe some more since I didn’t have to make company happy.  I only used a tablespoon each of butter and real sugar, used no egg or pecans, and 3/4 c. splenda.  They were still tasty, just not as creamy as the ones that I made for Easter.

All I have to say is I better have lost weight tomorrow!  I took another hour walk today, shopped, and worked in the yard some, and I MAY take another walk.

Yet another long day.  I caught a kid cheating today.  It just makes everything harder.  I’m dissappointed.  I would have thought that I could trust this kid.  I really need to be more viligent about watching them.  This caused me to go to PF Chang’s while not really cheating is not the best choice either.  Afterwards, I wanted to go shopping because I’ve been looking for a light pink shirt.  I didn’t find one because all the sleeves on the ones I see are too short, and my arms look awful.  I did find three cute shirts though.  I hate/love buying clothes right now because I hope that soon enough, they’ll be too big.  Anyway, I got remotivated in trying on clothes, so we went for an hour walk with the dog when we got home.  It was pretty nice, and I’m looking forward to another one tomorrow.  I think morning duty really throws off my week.  Then the next week I have to recover from my morning duty week, so it looks like I have one good week, and then I go back to duty.  Argh!  I’m just hoping that next year will be calmer.  If not, I’ll just have to make the most of my summer and lose as much as possible and then just maintain during the school year, which means it’s going to take me forever to get to goal.  I am currently right at a loss of 60.  It sounds like so much but I don’t look or feel that much different.  Buying clothes is a little bit easier, but I’m still not quite happy.  I’m going to get to bed so I can make the most of tomorrow.  Maybe I can get in two walks tomorrow because I doubt I’ll do much walking during the week.

 We’re having a weird problem with the treadmill.  After my dad fixed it, he had to adjust the belt a little, and now it’s really slippery in a few spots.  I tried to scuff it up to increase the traction but no improvement.  We wiped it off, but we’re going to try to clean it more thouroughly.  I am hoping we can get it worked out even though luckily, right now walking outside is quite enjoyable.

Thank God tomorrow is Friday or some children would surely die.  Testing has been awful.  I’m not even quite sure if I would have passed this test because it’s that psycho.  Summer is coming soon.  Still no exercise, and I’m up a pound.
