Fight of my life

new-year.jpg

Big sigh of relief and my new challenge for the rest of 2007.

Weigh in was today and I knew that I gained over the holiday but I was really hoping to stay in the 150’s.  I had the dreaded plateau in the 160’s and trust me I do not want to go back!

Results are as follows: I gained 1.6 lbs over the last week giving me a current weight of 159.6 lbs.  While this is just barely under my plateau range - it is still below!  Wonders never cease.  Now I am not at all proud of the fact that I gained but on the other hand I am okay with it.  I allowed myself to indulge this last week, I expected a gain, and now I’m back on track.

The goal this week is stay completely OP, no funny business, P-E-R-I-O-D.  That’s right Bret, you stick within your points every single day.  There will be no going over, borrowing (or for that matter stealing) points.  You have AP’s and FP’s to utilize for the occasional overage, when they’re out - they’re out, which means you are out!

What’s amazing is that I have yet to accomplish this goal.  I have been on WW’s for four months now and I have yet to stay within my allotted points.  I suspect that it is part of the reason why my progress has been at the turtle pace.

I don’t know why I feel the need to bend the program each and every time.  I guess I’m not much of a in between the lines type of girl.  Nope, I have to push the envelope, mind you not too far, but enough so that I can claim it’s all mine.  This squeaky behavior will no longer be tolerated.  It stops now because my December goal is to lose 5lbs, even with the holidays, the celebrations, and all the yummy deliciousness that will be offered.  Releasing 5lbs, would put me at 154.6 lbs, 20 lbs lighter than when I first started, and back below my 10% goal.

Let’s see how I do, shall we?!  To hold me accountable I will be posting my points for each day this week.  That should force me to track diligently and stay within target!

This is my last chance before the end of the year!  I can’t go back or repeat 2007, which means that I need to make the best of my time with the next 5 weeks!  What are you planning for the rest of your year?

Are you going to finish 2007 with a bang too?!   I look forward to 2008, beginning a fresh year with a whole new me!  I expect to be even more motivated come January. I can’t wait to look back at 2007 and see all that we have accomplished!  :)  If we could do it in 2007, why not in 2008?

To somewhat answer your questions about maintenance… I understood that you have to be at goal or no more than 2 pounds above goal for maintenance. I think you can go below with no penalty. I could be wrong, but I discussed my personal goal being lower with my WW leader a couple weeks ago and she didn’t say there’d be any issue. So 160 is the highest I can be per WW. A lot of people go ahead and make their goal lower (where they actually want to end up) because they feel it motivates them more. I hope that’s right!
