Back to life… back to reality!

Hurray! Normalicy… I can feel it coming! It feels like a Monday today… I’m tired and trying to feel motivated to tackle my house… mostly just the baskets of goodies I brought home from our Christmas times.

I didn’t go to the gym this morning because they don’t have “tiny-gym” for dd, so I’m going to have a friend watch her at 11 and go run then…

Quick Christmas Update…

I’m being called from the other room to “stop being on the computer” and “come have daughter time”… so I’ve got to make this quick!  Just wanted to post that I ran/walked 3 miles w/ Allison and my sister today and I’ve eaten fruit, raisin bran, and a sandwich thus far!  I am trying to focus on my choices today and will try to update tomorrow!

UPDATE TO MY UPDATE: Well… I had a decent dinner, maybe ate a bit more than I normally would have, but I stopped when I was satisfied.   The out-of-control part hit me at dessert.  I ate 4  1/2 pecan-caramel thingys… super good… super rich… and I was sick to my stomach at the end of the night. UG.All I can say is I’m glad it’s almost over… Boy am I glad.

Is the insanity over yet???

I admit I’ll be happy when life returns to “normal”.  I miss my routine and I miss my healthy habits.  Not that I’ve completely fallen off the wagon… it’s just that I mostly have (: and not intentionally.  I am doing my best to make good choices… it’s just that life throws lots of things in my way! (:  Today I had no good options for breakfast, so I just didn’t eat (ignored the coffee cake my dh kept munching on…) and figured I’d make it to the grocery store eventually today, to stock up on good choices… well finally the coffee cake won… it just kept calling my name, and I was o-so-hungry.  Still hadn’t made it to the store by 2pm when I finally fixed lunch for everyone (my sis is in town visiting)… so I made of the few choices left in the cupboard, Tuna Helper… but I filled it full of veggies to at least slightly offset the poor choice (roughly 7 points, I did measure it out at least!)… the I ate a 1/2 sized portion as we headed out the door to go look at Christmas lights… and then we met my family at Sharis afterward… ): poor choices there… need I say more?

So yes.. I’m ready.  Ready for my normal day that begins w/ working out and a healthy breakfast, and ends with a good feeling as I sit down to blog all my success from the day.  I’m ready!

Merry Christmas! Our 4 day weekend begins!

Well… I guess every weekday/weekend is all kinda the same to a stay-at-home mom… but at least my dh gets 4 MUCH NEEDED days off and fun time to spend with family! Today’s been great so far! I’m planning on heading to a Christmas party later this evening with a full stomach and room only for a treat or two… I’m not going to deprive myself, but I am going to keep things in moderation!

Getting back to blogging….

well I am here. Where I need to be. This time of year has def. put a damper in my daily (often multiple times…) blogging… I’m starting today right with a food chart and some fresh accountability.

DD didn’t sleep again last night… so I seriously wonder how many calories she consumed. She literally ate all night on. The only way she’d go back to sleep every time she woke up (about ever 1/2 hour), was to latch back on and nurse (sometimes only for 30 seconds, sometimes for 5-10 minutes)… I NEED SLEEP!!!

Quick check-in…

Still out of town… DD has had a fever the last 48 hours and we’ve had some rough rough nights… needless to say, she has nursed so much, I think I’ll have a weight loss just from the calories she has consumed! (:

I’ve made good food choices overall… with a few treats in the mix. Mostly salads, fruit, sandwiches, and diet soda… but also a few candies and 2 cookies… I am hoping to hit the gym here in a few minutes, and to jump BACK to hard core Danielle on my drive home today! (:

Weigh-In!!

Last week’s scale reading: 153.0

Today’s scale reading: 153.2

Well the damage wasn’t as bad as I feared…  up .2… could have been MUCH worse.  So I’m grateful for that! They re-checked my weight loss last week and there was an error somewhere in someone’s subtraction and i actually was down to 153.0 last week, and I technically had lost 15lbs!!!!! so now I’m back up to 14.8 and excited to see my next 5 lb star next week and possibly 10%! Woo hoo!!! (except I won’t be home on Christmas eve… not quite sure what to do about that… :-(  Maybe I can weigh in at the WW mtg. near my parent’s home…

I just visited a new blog today and found a quote that pretty much sums my week:

“The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what we want MOST for what we want at the MOMENT.”

O… this is soooo true!

So today I commit to NOT TRADE what I want most (to be healthy, to be in shape, to lose my last 15lbs, to feel great about my weight in my next pregnancy, to wear size 8 comfortably, etc…) for what I want at the moment (a few sweets, a high calorie choice, social eating, etc).  The next two day are “girls night out” with my mom and sisters.  I know we can eat right and be successful and still HAVE FUN! Having fun does not have to center around food!

The AFTERMATH…

I didn’t want to post my Wed food too early and bump my beautiful pictures down… (: So I just decided to save this post and post both days on Thursday… 1st of all.. Wed was/is my ANNIVERSARY!! 3 years and going strong! (: My mom and sis came to town and helped me decorate my house adorably… and i had candles lit, and a WW dinner on the table when DH arrived home! (: We ate quick and headed out the door to church (but w/ plans to spend time together on Saturday), so I didn’t make too big of a deal about it… BUT… DH did bring me home some GORGEOUS roses and a little card. VERY SWEET! (I realize now that I look at the picture that I need to take off some of the leaves (:

Wednesday was def. a munchie day… I had junk around and I allowed myself to eat it (”because it’s my anniversary”, excuse). I still managed (miracle??) to stay w/in points range… but not on good food… and def. not all my fruits and veggies in… ): grrr… I also skipped the gym, which I rarely ever do (I go whenever I’m in town… and never skip… I just don’t work out EVERY day because I’m usually out of town at least 1 day, and I don’t usually go weekends) and that is a drag too… Maybe I will make up for it Sat or Sun (Kinda doubt it tho… big stressers of a Children’s play production that Allison and I are directing)… anyway… this is a rambling post….

Ok I wanted to post about this for a while, and always forget. Dh and my Dad started this competition thing between the two of them, to lose weight. The deal is they weigh in each Friday after work… and if either isn’t down, they owe the other one $5. Seems like a good plan to me.. Week 1: DH loses 8.8 lbs!!!! and my dad loses 5.2. UG. Double Ug. Men & losing weight = NOT FAIR!!! I know, I know, most of it was water weight and the fact that my DH eats (ate, past tense) TERRIBLE. The little changes he made made a HUGE difference for him. But still… how annoying! Now he has scale Angst…. he he… now he gets to know how it feels! (: Can’t wait to see the numbers this Friday!

THURSDAY… THE AFTERMATH… I know this is a long journal and I don’t have much to say for today, except I’m embarrassed to write what I ate today.  I was snacking out of control.  Only ate 2 real meals and only 1 serving of F&V. Ug. Bad bad bad… that’s all there is to it. I know i won’t remember all I ate as I try to fill in my chart…  and the worst part is, DH and I are going to dinner tomorrow night at his company party, and Saturday to the Spaghetti Factory. double ug.  Tomorrow night, NO DESSERT for me.  Usually that’s pretty easy cause it’s Cheesecake and I don’t like Cheesecake.  CROSS MY FINGERS… I did do STEP AEROBICS TODAY… (w/o a sports bra! bad news when you’re a large chested nursing mommy!) That’s my one good thing! O and I suppose my other good thing: I had a wonderful time this morning with friend over coffee (and goodies) and it just felt nice to have fun company in my newly decorated little house.  Hurray for Christmas in that respect!

Not only did I survive, I SUCCEEDED!

Yep! Yesterday was a successful day! We literally baked from morning till night (10 am to 8:30 pm, with a small break in the middle) with a controlled amount of flex points used!  My plan really helped me to stay on track and stay focused that I didn’t want to use all my flex points on grazing… and it helped me to “choose my points wisely”.  Allison (who I’m sure will be posting her success shortly!) and I were o-so impressed with ourselves as we headed out the door at 8:30 to deliver our treats (with sweet-potato-fries in our other hands, to munch on as we delivered!), we couldn’t help but grin and brag to each other just how well we did!  I really didn’t think it was possible to cook ALL DAY and not much and graze, and eat yourself into a junk food black hole… but we did! (AND SO CAN YOU!!!!)
