Not doing well..

Posted by dnbarton on 19th April 2008

I’ve been MIA. and mostly I think it’s a combination of “not doing well” and “super busy”.  My parents came to town on Thursday.  Since my dad’s heart attack he can’t do much so they figured they’d have a little get-away and enjoy their grandbaby. Having them in town didn’t help my  already faltering motivation. [sigh]

On a positive note, DH bought a scale yesterday. I will weigh tomorrow morning and face the music.   Even if I’m up, I now will have a scale to hold me accountable.  I dont’ have to blame it on waiting to weigh till I go to my mom’s house. So that’s good.

Ok. That’s all for now. Just needed a bit of accountability to get me back OP.

Good night! (:

I was debating…

Posted by dnbarton on 16th April 2008

on whether to do flex or CORE this week… I started posting yesterday CORE, but forgot that I was having some ladies over for a birthday party w/ cake and ice cream… so I switched to Flex, ate a little less yesterday and scraped by points-wise.  Although I almost never add in activity points so that’s gotta help a bit as well.

Today was back to Step Aerobics and I pushed myself a lot harder today.  I used 2 “bricks” almost the entire time to up my intensity and I just pushed my energy level to the max.  Felt great!  Yesterday I was surprised how easy step seemed considering I hadn’t worked out in a week.  I’m glad I didn’t lose my “in-shape-ness” in that amount of time. :)

The leftover cake and ice cream are still here.  I put the cake in a bottom drawer and hopefully I won’t even remember it’s here… dh has to weigh in tomorrow on a bet he’s doing w/ my dad… so he doesn’t need it either.   Next week I will be housesitting and they have a digital scale so I will save my weigh in for there… and PRAY that I can undo any damage from this past weekend.

Posted by dnbarton on 15th April 2008

Can you hear the tune? I’m singing it in my head as I type (: Just wanted to get it stuck in your head as well!

Well I’m home finally, and I started out today w/ Step Aerobics and it felt great! Missing a week is tough! I need to be working out… It’s weird being away from my family after being w/ them the better part of the last two week… but I’m glad my dad is doing ok… and that he’s still here with us. Boy am I grateful for that!

What’s my plan for this week? Well… cut the junk (I don’t have any in my house so that’s good!)… EXERCISE… Get my water in… and just eat well… Pretty simple.

I have an excuse…

Posted by dnbarton on 13th April 2008

a real one! I didn’t WI on Friday.  Honestly, I think it would have been a pretty depressing WI anyway, but I was planning on weighing for accountability and to get me back on track.   My excuse is legit… My dad had a heart attack Friday morning.  We were staying with my parents and so we ended up spending most of the day in one hospital or another… My dad is doing well.  He was actually at the hospital by the time he had the heart attack,  so PRAISE GOD he was in the best possible situation to have one.  Talk about the scariest thing I have ever witnessed… He will be coming home tomorrow after a very minor procedure that opened up his artery.  It’s amazing how modern medicine has elliminated open heart surgery in so many cases.

Anyway… it has been a weekend of unhealthy eating and my body can feel it. Sadly.

I don’t know when will be the next time I will be around a scale to weigh… so I am going to get focused and hope to undo the damage by the time I weigh next.  What a crazy week.

MIA

Posted by dnbarton on 9th April 2008

Here I am.

I have been MIA and I will continue to be for the rest of the week.

We are out of town for our Northwest Bible Conference and with seminars in the am and pm, I dont’ have much time for the internet.  I just checked my email and had 16 new ones! Yikes!  Needless to say, my mom, the one who always encourages me and partners w/ me on weight loss, has been a sabotauger this week.  She’s doing dinners so I can’t complain, but I am not eating the greatest.  I have been fine for breakfast and somedays lunch, others, she buys lunch ‘out’ and it’s not the best.

So that’s all for now! Just wanted to stop by and say hi to everyone… I’ll be back OP on Sat or Sunday. and I am still weighing this Friday, even tho I think I’ll be up a tad.  All the more work for me the next few weeks!

Well I read Roni’s post on grazing…  but I don’t know if it’s very good for me…

OP for the long haul!

Posted by dnbarton on 3rd April 2008

Today I was at the grocery store picking up some soda and the temptation  was sooo strong to buy some chocolate.  I have been eating some “here and there” the last week and I know I was starting to head down the “out of control” path… so today I said NO.  I grabbed an ultra healthy Strawberry Rhubarb muffin from Great Harvest and headed home. YA for me!

I kinda had a revelation today that I could have been at my (140 lb) goal by  now.  Sad. I know.

So I’m ready to set some new mini goals and really push till summer!  My lil’ sis is getting married August 10. That’s a great goal for me!  I want to look good in the bridal party so I’m pumped to (re) get going on this journey!  I know how to set realistic goals for myself so here I go!

By May 2 (family retreat) lose 5 lbs (weigh 145 lbs)

By May 30 lose 10 lbs total (weigh 140 lbs)

By June 27 lose 14 lbs total (weigh 136 lbs)

By August 1 lose 20 lbs total (weigh 130 lbs)  by Naomi’s wedding!
