Why is it so hard to get fruits & veggies in?

…especially on flex… because I get down to 8 points left for dinner… and I don’t want to use one of those points  for an apple… ya know?  I do like CORE better in that respect… I suppose I should just eat 0 point veggies.. but there aren’t too many of those out there that I like. Salad gets old. Especially w/ nothing on it (:

Not thinking much about good eating choices.

no fruit or veggies in the house.  shopped tonight. tomorrow’s a new day. I like Mondays. It means my house will get cleaned! (:  Here’s to a better tomorrow!

MIA

Well I’m back.  Well I technically didn’t leave.  I mean I left home, but didn’t go on my ladies family retreat.  Snow over the pass scared my mom.  She and I didn’t feel like we could put on chains and they were required.  It’s been snowing, hailing, raining and sunning off and on the past 2 days.  It’s so so so weird.  It’s practically april.  Snow just doesn’t seem fun this time of year.

Anyway… didn’t go to my family retreat, but my mom, sister and I got a hotel in  a near-by town and shopped for 2 days straight.  It was fun!  I bought a few little things for my o-so-sweet 1 year old… and we pretty  much bought my sister an entire new wardrobe. She was long overdue.  She has Cerebral Palsy and so it really was an all-day even to find cute summer clothes and stuff that she can wear that’s modest and doesn’t require any under-tank… It makes my mom nervous to buy her anything that she could possibly wear out in public and forget the undershirt or something… so everything has to be fool-proof.  Anyway…

So I’m here.

I did… ok.  I weighed in on Saturday just a hair down (.2)

Honestly, I thought I’d be up, so that satisfied me… I didn’t overeat but I did have more sugar than usual.  I sugary treat both days. I’ll have to see how everything pans out on the scale on Friday or Saturday. I’m back on track tho and that feel good.  Always coming back and getting into the groove.

Thursday

Exciting title. I know.  I am home today. Recovering from a week of not cleaning much, and also packing for my weekend as well.  I’m babysitting an 11 month old all day today too… so it’s a full day!

I live in Oregon and it is snowing today. It is so weird.  We don’t usually have snow past Feb., and quite rarely in Feb… and we are 3 days shy of April and it is snowing here! Insane.  Now I don’t know if we will be going to our Family Retreat, because we have to go over a pass that requires snow chains right now.  We’re waiting to see…

Not much working out this week.  The aerobics room is closed at my gym and I’ve been gone so much that it worked out rather nice for it to be this week.  I was bummed originally when I heard they were closing it, but I haven’t been once so far…!

Baby Birthday Bonanza!

Well… I’ve  been MIA for a few days.  NOT LIKE ME! - I know!  Even if I’m doing bad, I usually post.  I am finally back home after the craziest week/weekend!

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE SWEET COMMENTS ABOUT DD’s PICTURES! (:  I HAVE A FEW MORE TO COME HOPEFULLY TOMORROW!

SUMMARY OF THE RECENT INSANITY:

-All week long we had special Revival services at my church (Mon-Thurs)

-Friday night - Cheesecake factory - DD’s birthday and my future BrotherIL’s birthday

-Saturday  I spent most the day baking a lady bug cake and the evening in a city  near-by playing in a concert for a “sister” church

-Sunday, church, birthday party with dh’s side of the family, and then nursery in the evening at church  - left after church and drove and hour and a half to my parents house

-Monday - left bright and early for a quick one day trip up to Seattle to visit my grandparents.  Spent the day there and got back to my parents around 9 pm

-Tuesday - spent the day at my parents (wedding shopping w/ my little sis) till DH got off work and came and picked me up.  We got home around 8 last night and I was EXHAUSTED!

-Today - got up around 7:30 and drove 45 minutes to DD’s 1 year pictures.  Got home around 1pm.  I’ve been cleaning my house and playing with my little one year old since then!

My plan: Get back on track after all the birthday cake and easter candy (thanks MIL!)  Weigh in Friday morning, before I leave for a ladies retreat w/ my mom. [sigh] I will eat well there! I am bringing Smart Ones frozen dinners for lunch, oatmeal for breakfast and we’re having a community dinner.  I should be safe! [cross my fingers!]

New dress

She got this dress for her birthday from Aunt Jennifer.  After she grabbed Aunt Naomi’s cup of water and dumped it on their laps, she got to put on the new dress!  I guess she just really wanted to find a way to wear it!

 

We have another party tomorrow with my dh’s side of the family.  I will probably share pictures of that too, since I’m such a proud  mommy!  I’ll try to include a picture that kinda shows my weight loss if possible!  Thanks for lookin and reading! I know these don’t have much to do w/ weight loss - however, - she is one of the reasons why I want to be in shape though!

Day 3 OP! (and Day 2 update)

Well I am here. And surprisingly, OP! Just had a crazy day yesterday and as I crawled into bed at midnight, posting wasn’t big on my priority list! (: Yesterday I ate 6-8 Flex points. Not the best but not terrible. I did workout (Cardio -Step) and felt good overall about my day. Today has been good. I’m hungry right now but I”m trying to hold off until dinner.. I think as I type my food out here in a second, I’ll realize why I’m so hungry, and why I shouldn’t wait.

Day One on track

Sorta.  I am counting every point.  Didn’t eat perfectly core, but I was contientious all day and made choices. My biggest change that I need to incorporate is getting back to 8 fruits and veggies, 3 milks, etc… I am actually proud of the choices I made today, even tho I used several FP’s… because I was thinking and not being mindless.

Today I took Step Aerobics and it just felt like my body was totally out of it! I didn’t work out much last week… Monday, Thursday, Friday I think (but only one day of Aerobics) and so today felt like it had been FOREVER! and I am already feeling it.  Weird how that works.  I have at least 3 days scheduled for Step already this week, so I’m pumped to be back on track eating-wise, and back into my gym addiction at a full force! (:

enchiladas CORE + 4   supposed to be “almost CORE” enchiladas… ran out of enchilada sauce so they were a little less “CORE-ish” than I would have liked.  I made homemade sauce but I used healthy choice soup and FF sour cream!

Ooo.. that stings - 14 flex points today, minus 4 AP  = 10 Flex points.  25 left for the week, and it’s DD’s 1st birthday this week. GREAT.
