I FINALLY got a new theme up. It is AWESOME, totally customizable, simple, clean elegant with some really neat header images and options.

You can even flip the sidebars from left to right.

Check it out, it’s called Tarski. I hope you like it!!

Simply select “Open link in new window” and it will listen to you this time, I swear! ;~)

Other quick news, I may be modifying and adding new templates in the next couple of weeks. I will be moving some ad placements around. No fear, I will do my best to keep them out of your way but it must be done. I am trying to raise enough money with the ads to move us to new servers. This way I won’t have to worry about space and we can get some better response times.

There’s been a few changes around here and I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware.

I’m a fan of lists so here goes…

1. Did you notice a change on the main page? I’ve added a list of blogs to the top that may be in need of support. How do I know? Well, I don’t really but the blogs I’ve listed are ones that haven’t been updated in about 2 weeks. So maybe they need a little encouragement. Stop by a few and leave a comment if you have time you never know you may help that person get back on the wagon!
2. I did it, I suspended any blogs that haven’t been updated since October. I think it’s really important to keep the community strong and active so participating members don’t get buried under a bunch of old blogs that have been abounded. If you had an old blog and would like me to un-suspended just shoot me an email at support@weightwatchen.com.
3. We’ve had a few new bloggers sign up recently (more then normal) and I wanted to welcome them all! I’ll be out an about to check out all your cool blogs this week. If you are new make sure you check out and comment on some of our veteran blogs, this way they know you are here and can offer support! This older post about blog writing may be of interest to you.
4. Please comment and let me know if you are having any problems with the community. I know Bonita mentioned something about links opening up in a new window that I still have to look into. I’m also consider changing hosting companies so we can get a better performance. Is the community responding slowly for you guys? Please comment and let me know if will help me make some decisions.
5. Just a reminder if you want to stay updated on the community posts and message boards you can subscribe the RSS feeds.

6. I announced a contest giveaway on my blog. Now that you all have blogs, you are eligible to enter! How cool is that?!

I’m not sure how many will read this with the Holiday but I wanted to share some stuff before I go on vacation.

1. I will be doing some end of year clean up of old blogs. I don’t want to do it but to keep the community strong I think we need to purge abandoned blogs. If you have a blog that you haven’t updated in over 3 months and want to keep it, make a small change so I know. Otherwise I will be automatically deleted it. Sorry, it needs to be done. I plan on purging the blogs next weekend so let any friends know.
2. You may have noticed new ads from BlogHerAds our new sponsor! If you blog is active they will be shown instead of the traditional google ads.
3. Along with the new ads comes an edit to the Terms of Service (WOW I’m getting all official, aren’t I!) You cannot accept payment exceeding $40 to write any reviews of products on your blog. I’m not sue how many of you are doing this but if you do get approached just let me know and I’ll remove the BlogHerAd from your blog if you like so you can write the review.
4. snarky has come up with a fabulous IDEA! Please see her board posting for a spring challenge. Come the new year we need to put our butts in gear! Remember we are ALL in this together so let’s get active and commit to reaching our goals! (I’ll post about this again)

I think that was all. I’ll be taking some time off for the holiday so you may notice a small spam increase. No worries I’ll be back on it in no time to clean them up.

Most of you know I started this community because I truly believe blogging helped me reach my weight loss goal. I knew how hard it was to get people to visit my blog and get that support I desperately wanted (needed).

Why not create an online community of people who all have similar goals so we could find one another?

So that’s what I did.

Now the question is why are you doing it? Is it helping? Have you reached a goal (or THE goal)? Are you getting the support you need?

Hi All!!

We are growing by leaps and bounds! I’m having such a hard time keeping up!!

That being said I was thinking of doing a little community work this weekend. Here’s my list of things to do…

1. Add a new template, possibly one for the winter months, more festive!
2. Redesign the main page. Recently updated and recent posts are always the same! So I may ditch recently updated and just show more recent posts. I think this will give more exposure to more bloggers. We want to make sure everyone get’s support.
3. Clean out any spammer blogs, or splogs I may have missed.
4. Clean up the Boards, there are some glitches I noticed

If you have any ideas, thoughts, themes, criticisms, please comment below. I can’t promise anything and I can’t make everyone happy but I love getting input from you! Remember it’s our community!

If you noticed the main page issues over the last few days thank the spammers! I’ve been trying to implement solutions to stop blogs them

My first attempt just limited the length of the title stopping the massive amount of links that would hijax our community page BUT this caused the main page scramble you may have been experiencing.

I think I’ve solved that problem by adding a script not allowing any blogs that have links in the title. Cross your fingers and let’s hope it works! </p>

I posted this last night on my blog but wanted be sure the community saw it. I think it’s nice when when we get to know each other a little better. It helps us support and find online friends plus it’s fun to play blog games!

I did it! We now have video support! Someone asked a few weeks ago and I said I would work on it. See, I don’t lie! ;~)
You will notice 2 new icons on the rich text editor when you post…
The first one allows you to link to a swf move from an external source. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, don’t worry…. The second icon will allow you to enter the web address to a youtube video. Much easier! :~) How COOL is that?!?

Just to prove video support I give you my little guy. Ok, ok, maybe it’s just an excuse to get compliments on how cute the toddler is, you caught me.

As for the themes, I finally uploaded another request, “skeletons in my closet” and I added a festive “Halloween” theme. Click your presentation tab to check them out. Sorry both don’t have widget support so you are stuck with the sidebars given.
