5k=good, eating=bad
Yeahh! I have the second 5k under my belt and I dare say there will be more! I was slower by 3 minutes than the first time I ran (39.14), but I was able to run (shuffle) the whole thing and I wasn’t last. There was a girl in front of me running and walking, running and walking, and I thought for sure I would be able to catch her, (You know the slow and steady wins the race) but no, she was too fast, even when she was walking! I may have to try that method next time.
They were doing a 5k and a 10k race together and I was lapped and passed by the 10K runners. I just watched them with amazement. I wish I could run like them. Long legged gazelles is the image that came to mind as I ate their dust. But it was a beautiful fall day and I actually quite enjoyed it. My Husband and kids were there to watch me and when they saw me coming down the last block they ran to greet me even though I was almost last. It was so cute and made me tear up a bit. When my little boy asked that morning why I was doing a race I told him I just wanted to get some excersice but that I probably wouldn’t win. He told me, it’s okay, just do your best. The little guy just made me feel better.
The eating thing wasn’t so great though, for some reason I thought I was invincible and that potato chips and cinnamon rolls were okay to eat because I had been running that morning. Boy was I wrong! I am up 2 pounds today. I am ready to cancel weekends just so I can stay on my “work” eating schedule.

Congrats on completing the 5K race! That’s awesome! Soon you’ll be one of the 10K gazelles. Running is addictive and it’s great that you’re family came out to support you - gotta love em!
Keep up the great work!
