“DON’T BLINK”
So on my way to work today I heard the new Kenny Chesney song “Don’t Blink”. This song has so much meaning to me. It is so true how life just passes you by and we don’t have a choice. Our kids grow up way to fast. Here’s the chorus lyrics:
Don’t blink
Just like that you’re six years old and you’re taking naps and you
Wake up and you’re twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don’t blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your better half
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you’re praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don’t blink
The phrase “Don’t Blink” just brought another meaning to me. The whole weight loss journey. It seems like it is such a long process, but time is going to pass us by whether we are losing weight or not. Pretty soon a year has passed and we could have lost 50 + pounds or we could have gained 50 + pounds. Take it one day at a time and pretty soon the journey is in the past and we can enjoy life the way we imagine it. Healthier, thinner, and more energetic. And to me more time & energy with my kids keeping them healthier.
My daughter had gymnastics last night for the first time and she had the time of her life. It just makes you so proud as a parent to watch your kids grow up, but at the same time it is so sad.
So to everyone, “DON”T BLINK”………. Or “BLINK” and 30 pounds will be gone…….

Man what a moving song. I can so relate to it. And it seems the older you get the faster it goes by.
Thanks for reminding me to stop and enjoy the years I have left with my kids.
