I seem to have run out of conviction. The heartfelt determination I started WW with just doesn’t have the same intensity it once did. I’m pretty much stuck in a rut for the last few weeks. The Holiday season is tough! Halloween candy, Thanksgiving feasting, all the holiday parties around the end of the year between work, family and friends. Really hard to stay focused and on point. I guess I’m preaching to the choir on that one. I’m pretty much staying the same for the last 5 weeks, going up and down the same stupid 2 lbs.
I’ve mused several times over the last week where I can get back the intensity I started this process with. Perhaps a little soul searching and more visible goals? Photos of my younger, slimmer self? A list of things I would like to enjoy doing again when I am physically able to do them? Baby step goals for weight training or other exercise with rewards for follow through?
What do you guys do to recharge? How do you keep your conviction, determination, focus on your weight loss that empowers you to stick with it?

OK, I’ll play. Roni tagged me for this meme.
The Rules:
- Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog
- Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird
- Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
- Let them know they are TAGGED by leaving a comment on their blog
About Me:
- I am the eldest of seven and 11 years older than my youngest sibling. We grew up on a farm in west central Minnesota 2 miles from our nearest neighbor in a 3 bedroom, 1 bath old house. We are now all married and live in seven different states. I’m the only one who decided not to provide grandkids for my parents. We remain a close knit family in spite of time and distance.
- I now live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am married to a wonderful guy who is my complete opposite in many ways, we compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses. I’m a clutter-bug pack-rat and he is a neat freak minimalist. He does most of the house cleaning and laundry - I handle all financial matters, grocery shopping and cooking. I kept my maiden name as my married name. We recently celebrated our 20th anniversary.
- At least once a week I have a dream where I am playing a baby grand piano but there is never any sound. The sensory satisfaction feeling the bounce back of the keys is what I remember from the dreams. I have no idea what it means.
- I have been an internet junkie since the late 80’s when everything was dial-up text-only via BBS and IRC. Anyone else remember a lynx browser and pine or pico email? I purchase all of my cloths online and spend more time blog surfing than TV watching on any given week. I lost a summer of my life playing on a very addictive MUD until the wee hours every morning posing as a teen boy named Spud.
- My nick name at work is “the General” because I keep the pressure on until someone tells me to back off. I am very blunt, task and goal oriented. It’s pretty hard to offend me because it’s not personal when it’s work related. I also have a reputation for getting projects done on time and within budget. I believe it’s important to keep my personal life separate from my professional life.
- I was in a Wendy’s restaurant during an armed robbery several years ago. The three guys with shotguns who took everyone’s cash where never caught. They timed the robbery just before a train came by and ran across the tracks in front of the train to escape.
- I hated the texture of oatmeal as a child and refused to eat it. Now I have oatmeal for breakfast every single day. I love to read cookbooks and recipes but hate to cook & bake because of all the prep & clean-up.
And this is where I do that Meme killing thing that I always do. I don’t do forwards, I don’t do chain letters and I don’t care if I don’t get rich in the next ten minutes because I didn’t hit send. I’m a killjoy, make that thing number 8.
That being said, consider yourself “tagged”.
