I’m a runner. There. I said it. That only took me two years, a 10 miler, a half, and a full marathon to admit it. Starting this blog as helped me achieve more personal goals then I ever thought imaginable but I think it’s time to branch out a bit.
On May 23, in Boston, I will be running in the Run to Home Base 9k (that’s just over 5.5 miles.) To enter this race I had to commit to raising $1000 for veterans with combat stress disorders and/or traumatic brain injury and their families. From the web site. . . Click here to read the rest »
Good job getting to the gym this morning before work and your 5 miles on Sunday.
You had a busy day and have an even busier week ahead. It may be a good idea to take tomorrow morning off. You’re sore. You’re tired. You can use an extra hour of sleep. Overdoing it isn’t any healthier then “underdoing” it.
Today started a little slow. I was a bit unmotivated to hit the pavement for my 5 mile training run. Sometimes getting on my shoes is the hardest part but as many runners will tell you.. you never regret a run that you have done; only the one’s you haven’t. So I complained on twitter and then got my butt up off the couch and got ready.
The first 2 miles were great and then it got hard. Real hard. I was crampy, tired and my legs felt SO heavy. BUT it was BEAUTIFUL out. I’m so glad I got out there to enjoy it. Click here to read the rest »
You know you ate too much when 7 hours after a meal you still feel like there’s a rock in your stomach. That’s exactly what I’m going through right now. You’d think that would stop me from eating more junk but noooo instead it has the opposite affect and I want to eat everything in sight. Why is that?
Don’t answer… just a rhetorical. Let me tell you about my great day… Click here to read the rest »

I’m only kidding. I’m having a blast but boy is it a lot of work! FitBloggin’10 is 2 weeks away. I’m SUPER excited but I also can’t wait for it to be over. Right now I feel like I have 3 full time jobs. Somethings gonna have to give, it’s just not healthy.
On that note, I’m off to bed. Sleep is nonnegotiable. :)
Yummy Sushi Pajama brought this video to my attention this morning and I couldn’t stop watching!
..
I have SO many mixed feelings about this I can’t even begin to unravel my thoughts. I’m just going to let it stew a bit. You can see the whole Face off by clicking here.
I have been in night time snacking mode for a few days, ok, maybe weeks, now. Ahhh who am I kidding? Forever.
You know you’re watching TV, still full from dinner, when you “just want something” but you don’t know what. I can’t be the only one to utter the “I just want something” phrase. Tonight I cured the craving by melting chocolate chips on some graham crackers (sorry.. I probably shouldn’t have popped that idea in your head.) lol Click here to read the rest »
Did I tell you guys I’ve been getting up at 5AM and going to the gym before work. Ok, well if you didn’t know, I’ve been getting up and going to the gym before work. Yeah… I barely believe it myself. Here’s the story… Click here to read the rest »
Did I ever tell you about my 5 Story rule? I think I did waaaayy back when in my 10 Stay Active Tips! In short, I have a personal rule to always seek out stairs in any building 5 stories or less.
I’m still and will always be, a stair taker. I even recently trucked up 14 flights at a conference I was attending. Boy THAT was a workout!
Anyway, when I saw this quote it made me chuckle.
“A man’s health can be judged by which he takes two at a time – pills or stairs.”
Joan Welsh
Are you a stair taker?
This is me at my High School graduation. (Mom is going to KILL ME. lol)

I practically starved myself my senior year because I thought I was fat. I was delusional. I was happy but uncomfortable. By this time I already would NOT be caught dead in a bathing suit without a t-shirt and nothing made me more uncomfortable then that sleeveless dress. Click here to read the rest »
